Reviews
"Sure, the trails could be trimmed a bit, but this preserve is really a local gem and an excellent example of the diversity of Northern Illinois. The giant sycamores near the creek are a great example. The architecture of the stone shelters is a nice surprise, like something out of a European countryside. If you are looking for a real hike and are actually used to the outdoors, I heartily recommend it."
"The pits. Forest preserve mgmt - throw some dang money into this, cut back the brush. It’s also mosquito alley here and they hardly ever feast on me like today. Oh yeah, nice job on the air traffic. :/ Not marked paths, muddy, and full of over growth. I saw the creek but said heck no, would have gotten whipped in the face. Do a better job!!"
"This is my favorite park. Very nice. Please don't go here, I want it for myself."
"This is one of my favorite places for a serene, quiet walk with the dog. The south side of preserve has two shelters for gatherings and several walking trails along the creek. The north side has a very nice hiking trail that runs close to the creek and through thick wooded areas. Both sides have a few great spots for fishing. **Hikers beware: this place is muddy all season long so wear appropriate footwear. Also, if it has been a wet season, or has recently rained, the trails may be flooded out."
"Very nice area. Dirt paths and some breathtaking trees. Picnic areas and out houses."
