Gold and Diamonds

"These guys might be great people in their personal lives, but the way they do business is shady. I didn't realize this "business" was in a mall. It's a kiosk. Certainly not the kind of place you're going to find high-end diamonds, jewelry, or apparel. I purchased my diamond from Diamond Direct, and I have the GIA certification. Unfortunately, they didn't have anyone on hand who handled acquisitions, so I made an appointment to go in the following day. Out of curiosity, I Googled diamond buyers nearby, and these guys came up. That's laughable. They're not diamond buyers. I've seen diamonds be appraised, and this guy didn't have the slightest idea what he was looking at. He offered me $200 for $1,000 diamond. I didn't expect to get what I had paid for it, but that was laughable. I literally laughed at him. I would have given them one star, but they were cordial and polite. I left an extra star for that. Seems to me that if somebody's going to beat you when they're buying something, they're going to beat you when they're selling something. I wouldn't buy jewelry from a mall, and certainly not from a kiosk. I almost turned around when I saw their "store" but I was interested in seeing what he'd say. Now I know. Now you know. If you insist on buying jewelry from a kiosk in the mall, go to the one right up the way. I don't know factually that they're better, but I KNOW I wouldn't trust these guys. Today, they tried to beat the wrong guy. Shop at your own risk."
