"I was billed for service I didn't authorize. I came in for an oil change (granted, the free oil change) but left with the brakes being flushed which I didn't ask for. I asked the service advisor to check the brake pads not flush the brake system. I told the Service advisor that I would flush the brake system when I changed my brake pads at a later date. I fully understand that the service department is probably inundated with "Free Oil Changes" and the Service advisors are instructed to upsell as much as possible but when the service advisor adds something I didn't ask for, that's crossing the line. Furthermore the service advisor seemed lackadaisical when I brought this to his attention. After looking into this further based on Google and Yelp reviews, this apparently is a common practice. This is the second incident I've had with the Capitol Chevrolet Service Department. I purchased my truck new in June of 2019 from Capitol and I'm due to upgrade it this summer but this shady business in the service department has me seriously reconsidering where I buy my next truck from."
"Horrible experience. Vehicle was dropped off for a screw in the tire. We where given a two hr window. Than everything went silent. Finally after 5 hrs we get a response, that Capital Chevy was given them lunch and unfortunately there behind now due to it. Once I let them know that I had to return to work, they completely ignored it and asked me to come in and wait in the lobby for the vehicle. Obviously privately owned because they have no reg in other peoples time."
"Avoid this dealership at all costs. Have a recall? They'll tell you to also spend a few more thousand on repairs you don't need. Have a repair that's been diagnosed? They'll refuse to fix it without a diagnostic fee. I'm happy to pay more to an honest mechanic"
"Such a poor service experience... after purchasing a vehicle from the dealership, i had the service center purchase and install a bed cover for the truck... within warranty, i had an issue with the cover and the service center told me they had never had to file a claim on a warrantied item they'd purchased and installed for a customer - which i flat out don't believe. when i pressed them, they told me they needed me to drop the truck off with them 'for a week' so they can look into it. crazy. they also are poor with appointments. you can easily make an appointment for an oil change - but last time i with in for a scheduled oil change, they told me it was going to take 3-4 hours... for a SCHEDULED oil change. poor experience overall, i think they just bank on people going there because it's familiar. i'd rather support a small business who cares about their customers and providing leading service."
"Want to have your car held hostage for a week with no communication, and then get yelled at by your service advisor when you ask to speak to the manager?? Then come here! I dropped my car off on Monday with an 8am appt, but could see it wasn't worked on until Friday (Thursday being Thanksgiving). I don't quite understand the point of an appointment, but fine. Surely, it'll be done the next day. I call on Saturday afternoon, which would be 5 days my car was there, NOT including Thanksgiving day. I call and email making sure to leave a message, but don't hear back. No one ever reached out to me regarding my vehicle this entire time. I had to reach out EVERY time. The following Monday rolls around and I call at 7:15am, 8:38am, and finally 9:35am--each time I call, I'm told my service advisor, Alberto, would be calling me in a matter of minutes. I FINALLY get my service advisor on the phone and he explains what's wrong with the car and that they can begin service on it....once I give approval. At this point, I'm upset...you've had my car a full week, but didn't actually begin service?? I ask when all of this was found out, and how long they've been waiting on me for my approval since I've been lift in the dark for a full week now. He explains it was the holiday and then had the weekend off. Again, so what's the point of the appointment? And what? A car doesn't' get worked on if the service advisor isn't there? Neat service model... I ask to speak to the service manager and my service advisor straight up says no. I asked again and again and again I'm told no. At this point I'm getting angry and begin pleading and begging to please be transferred to a service manager. I don't need to explain why I want to talk to an advisor, although at this point, it's obvious. My service advisor raises his voice at me as we continue this back and forth of begging to be transferred and being told no. I explain that I will tell their manager that they refused to transfer me and raised their voice. I finally hang up and call the service department yet again to speak to a manager. I hate dealing with the dealership and this was the final straw. I will not return and will avoid Chevrolet from here on out. The ONLY shining star that I encountered was Kenisha (sp?) in Customer Relations. SHE is a gem that actually seemed to care about what I was saying."
