"Always a great stay. I've been staying at the guest house whenever I'm in town for the past 7 years, long before it was listed on Airbnb and other platforms. There's more photos of the rooms and over 900 reviews on there. The house is very clean and the mattresses are comfy. The host is very quick to respond to any requests or problems. There's also sometimes an exchange student or 2 that stays and helps since the owner/host does not live there. A few years ago, the water heater broke and they had it fixed the very next day. A quick tip: If you're intending to stay longer term, do not wait until the last minute. You can make special arrangements since the website only allows renting for 4 weeks max. There is an occasional cookout in the beautiful garden in the backyard. I also enjoy meeting the guests from all over the world! The area is very safe. It's a quiet residential area with plentiful street parking."

"I'm a travel nurse and I have stayed in Mary's place for 3 months and it felt like home to me. Mary is such a gracious host. She makes sure that guests feel comfortable and if there are some concerns, she addressed it promptly. The house gives such homey feeling that one would love to go home to after a long day. The kitchen is well equipped and the place is clean and well-maintained. Having a washer and dryer in house also makes it so convenient. I felt safe in the neighborhood and the location is very convenient . It's near Amita Health, CTA blue line, Walgreens , Dollar Tree. Dunkin Donuts, Pancake house , Popeyes and other dining places are also walking distance. There are also nearby grocery stores such as Jewel Osco and Mariano's. It's also minutes away from the airport . If I would come back in Chicago, Mary's place will surely be on top of my list."

"Avoid at all costs - Mary is abusive and puts people in coed rooms with total strangers. She should not have a license and should be reported to the authorities. Absolutely terrible and had to leave in the middle of the night."

"Not sure what to say about this place!!! It was a nightmare for a friend of mine coming to US from Germany! Do yourself a favor and pass on this place,,, My friend booked this place for 5 months a month in he had to find somewhere else to stay for four days, because This Mary person overbooked, then he falls on the stairs leading to the attic bedroom with a space heater in it!!! cut his head open,, needless to say got him out of there!! So people if you like your life turned up side down!!! Sleep here!!"
