"The good: It is quiet, maintenance personnel are fast (fixing stuff under 48hrs most of the time), nobody has loud music. Make sure to choose frontier as ISP, spectrum will raise the rates to twice the initial rate.. And I had issues with spectrum and never had an issue with the frontier. The bad: I was on the third floor and this past summer I had to buy a portable ac because the heat was horrible. All the summers the heat is horrible, and the ac is not enough to cool down the apartment. I had the thermostat set to 78F and the apartment would go as high as 82-85F with the ac running all day continuously. I even had the air vents on the bedroom closed with the door closed to only cool down the kitchen and living room. My electric bill was over 200usd in May, June, July and August. In July I bought a portable ac and I was able to keep the living room temperature to 78 with both of them running. The building I was had foundations issues and they had to raise the apartment building. Because of the foundations issues half of the windows never closed again. The doors had the same issue, but they were able to fix those. I paid for covered parking, and they have somebody on the maintenance staff that loves to park the golf cart they use under on those reserved spaces. And if they are parked there, they will take a long time to move the golf carts out of the reserved parking. This happened to me twice. I am paying to have reserved parking; I am not paying so you can park your golf cart there. One of the treadmills on the gym has been broken for more than a year. Leaving only one working. The ac system in the gym is a joke during the summer, and it is disgusting to be there. It is either always broken or they have it set high. During the fall / winter / spring, most of the time is ok. One time during this summer I saw management go an place a sign saying the ac was not working “tonight”. What is weird is that the AC was working (just but it was working). Then maintenance came and opened the cage of the thermostat and turned the ac off. This happened just before 5pm and called me crazy, but why would you put a sign saying “tonight”. I think they are trying to save money and they were turning it off after 5pm so they can have tours with the AC working just fine, and then turning it off after the tours end. The gates almost never worked, and thieves have stolen catalytic converter on the premises. If you choose 1st floor, make sure to see where the ac systems are for the buildings. Like I said before I was on a third floor, and I felt sorry for the people on the first floor because they had the ac system of the building next to the bedroom window. They recently changed all the outdoor lights on the parking lot and between buildings to be extremely bright. No idea why they changed the lights, but my guess is for security reasons. Because of this, you will need some extra blinds to cover those lights, they are bright. Also, our neighbors had an Amazon package stolen from their front door. They have package concierge lockers, but sometimes they are full, and amazon delivers the packages to your front door, which is how it got stolen. We installed a doorbell with a camera, and we had it all on camera, even the police showed up to make a police report. During these 5 years, I only saw 1 cockroach like 1 year ago, but we had 3 crickets show up last month. And there was somebody else complaining about cricket infestation. I would not call three crickets on 3 separate nights on a month an infestation. But that is all. No spiders, rats, or anything like that."
"The worst complex. Terrible terrible noise problems. Maintenance guys are super rude. Always blocking stairway entrances with golf carts. You can here upstairs neighbors walking back and forth with no rest in between. The walls are so thin."
"The apartment is full of crickets and when I asked the manager Jasmine Barnes to ask the pest control company Terminix to fix the issue, she told me the company states there is no solution for crickets and Jasmine wanted to give me some sticky pads. However, on the website of Terminix, it says they have a solution for crickets. It is the Ballantyne responsibility to fix this issue for tenants, but they don't want to work. The service is so bad so far and I don't recommend the company. I forgot to mention that I just got the apartment keys 2 days go."
"Honestly the price is really high BUT it's such a lovely and quiet complex. All of the maintenance workers are so sweet and quick to assist with any issues. The size of the apartments are really big and spacious. I truly feel like home here and would recommend to anyone."
"I am fairly new to the community, I moved in November 2022, as with any apartment you will previous tenants did not leave the best impression. Nevertheless there has never been a single time that I reached out to the front office staff that they did not resolve the problem expeditiously. I have nothing but a positive experience while dealing with the Property Manager Raina, she worked with me tirelessly to resolve my issue. Despite having a family emergency she remained in contact throughout the entire process. She exhausted every avenue to to address the issue to my satisfaction. I would like to especially commend Jasmine and Margie for their exemplary efforts to assure that my issues were resolved in the absence of the property manager. Additionally, the guys in maintenance are second to none, they're prompt and efficient. Best apartment living situation ever!!!"
