Sonesta ES Suites San Antonio Downtown Alamo Plaza

"I’m not really one to write reviews but I have to say that my stay here was really disappointing. For starters, it’s ‘VALET PARKING ONLY’ but the website states, “Free Parking”. My room was okay but my bed looked like it was half made. Aside from that, the most frustrating part of my stay was my key card not working EVERY single time that I left my room. If I left my room & tried to get back in- I couldn’t. So, I would have to go to the hotel desk to get an entirely new key card EACH time. Lastly, the breakfast. I am not one to complain about food, honest to God! But the hot breakfast served at this hotel was disgusting. The eggs were not properly cooked, the bacon was burnt, and the coffee was not good at all. Super disappointing with my stay because the view was actually really nice & the staff was nice too. But everything else sucked. lol. I hope my review helps someone else out there."

"The hotel is 10-12mins walk to river walk. Parking is $40 plus tax per night. Housekeeping doesn’t come take out the trash. The room itself wasn't bad. Breakfast is free but is below average. I stayed away from the hotel all day and evening, so it was at least a place to sleep, I guess. I would not stay here again."

"Waiting to get checked in was a bit of a challenge and could have been handled much better. That said, once we were checked into our room everything went very smoothly. The staff is very courteous both inside the hotel and the valet. They charge valet of $40 per night which is very standard for downtown San Antonio. However, unlike other hotels who make you log into an app and complete a whole bunch of unnecessary steps, Sonesta charges it directly to your room which is far more convenient. The building could use some updates, but is far from rundown. The room was very spacious and provided a lot of things you would need for an extended stay somewhere. One of my favorite features was the full size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. I appreciate both not having to deal with tiny bottles, and the fact that this is far more eco friendly cutting down on waste. I do wish they had toothpaste in their market, but we were able to go to the store down the road to get some."

"This place was a good place to get away. The front lady with curly hair no glasses, she was amazing! I wanted to catch her name to tell her thank you! Also rooms were cool too. The downside was, we kept getting profiled everywhere we turn. That's what bothered me the most. It felt like the guests were gonna tell on me just for breathing. Anyways. The hotel was amazing! Ten outta ten."

"My job selected this location for a conference. Not far from Riverwalk. Check-in and out were great. Staff were very helpful the whole visit. I mostly interacted for the valet, as there is no self-parking unless you want to risk street meters. Morning breakfast was satisfying, especially since I took back to my room. No, coffee is NOT available 24 hours, despite ads. I had a queen studio, more than enough room for my whole family. Kitchen was well-equipped. Great desk space. I never heard any of my neighbors, it was so quiet. As with all kitchenettes, you should wash everything (again) before using ~ I didn't do this, and regretted it. But everything was very functional, fridge was cold and stove worked just fine. No dish soap at arrival but asked front desk and they provided a small Palmolive. My only issue was with the air-conditioning. The output was worse as each day went by. Spoke with the desk, nothing could be done prior to check out but they advised cranking open the window for air circulation, which did quite a bit."
