"I really had to think about this review. The WG building is absolutely beautiful and historic. It's centrally located and right across the street from a beautiful public library. I've been a resident at WG for almost a month now. I will admit, when I first moved in there were a lot of hiccups. The room was not ready on the lease date and there was no communication with the property manager. So you can imagine my surprise when I moved in and discovered that my apartment was still very much under construction. I was assured that it would be completed within the next two days and ready to move in. When I returned a few days later, the apartment seemed like it was ready until I looked a little closer. While maintenance had completed all the repairs prior to the move-in, the apartment itself was filthy. Food from the previous tenant was left in the kitchen. The bathroom was covered in wet paint. Hair from the previous tenant was all over the bathroom sink and cabinets. Trash was stuffed down in between the rungs of the radiators. And all of the countertops were sticky and covered in grime. I actually didn't end up staying in the apartment the next few nights because I was disgusted by the state it was left in. BUT I still decided to leave this place a high review. Let me explain why. First of all, I have always had very positive experiences with all of the maintenance staff in this building. From what I've seen, they are incredibly kind and are dedicated to doing the best they can. Sam and Goodnews have been especially kind to me. They are also very responsive! When I told them about the situation, they usually came within minutes to fix the problem. They are always respectful and apologetic. I also understand that the building itself is old and requires a lot of work to maintain it. These guys work a lot. Despite their busy schedules, I feel like they took my concerns very seriously and came to help as soon as they were able. So even though the apartment itself was not in ideal shape when I arrived, I really do feel like the building staff is doing their best to help and make the apartment clean and livable. If you're planning to live here, expect some level of technical/maintenance issues, but also remember that it's an old building and those are to be expected. Overall, when you consider the rent prices and location, it really is a good place to live."
"Run!!! The apartments are spacious, location is good but you cant ever get in touch with Management, My lease ended September 2022 call to to renew my lease i finally received my new lease June 23 2023 with only 7 days to sign it. Now I'm stuck here until July 2024. Maintenance is awful they come & look at the problem then say we will be back & never come. Now you pay a utilities fee that fee depends on your apt size. I'm definitely moving when my lease is up."
"Considering the price and location, it’s definitely a nice place to stay at. The apartments are huge and if you’re on a higher floor you have a nice view. The utilities are included in the rent and you can also pay extra if you want a furnished apartment. The management is nice and responsive, never had any issues with them. The neighbors are really friendly, the only issue is the noise from the traffic but you’ll eventually get used to it."
"They keep changing management and will steal $1000 from you like they did to us. We moved out and they kept taking direct payments and it's been a month and a half of trying to get our money back and our deposit. Ridiculous. We have it in writing that they were going to stop the payments before our move out date. Now they are trying to say we owe them for staying a few days into august... our lease ended a few days into august. This area has gone down hill as well. We were stopped by a gang member right outside with a weapon and I've been chased by a man and barely made it inside before he reached the door. Homeless people sneak in and sleep/urinate on the steps. You will always be hot or cold, and your car will acquire thousands of dollars worth of damages in the parking lot. But the maintenance guy Jim, and Rita who cleans and runs the elevator are very kind and made it worth our stay. Neighbors were nice as well. Though some of them are trying to get out because of the new management as well."
"Sean and Tammy in the office are incredibly easy to work with on scheduling appointments and are always very friendly and understanding of our needs. The building is very old, and beautiful, but with new maintenance, they are working hard to make sure any of the tenants' small problems are solved."
