"Do NOT do business with Bluegrass Auctions and Appraisal. I had 4 pieces of used handmade Campbellsville solid cherry furniture made by Eugene McMahan and Sons. This included a full size cannonball bed with sideboards, a night stand, a desk and a dresser with a mirror. In order to determine if I wanted them to sell my furniture, I communicated with Chris who told me in an email (which I kept), “Campbellsville cherry typically does very well.” He noted that a few pieces had some scratches and wouldn’t bring top dollar but they would do their best. Their best was I received $170 for my furniture. Unbelievable low price. Furniture stores sell used Campbellsville cherry furniture for much much more. Their communication with me was VERY poor. I called multiple times to get Chuck (owner?) to call me back. He didn’t. Most importantly, they certainly misrepresented themselves when telling me my type of furniture usually does very well. Believe me, I would not have had them sell it for me had I known I was going to get a pitiful amount. I will say that they waived the $150 charge for picking up the furniture and they did not take any commission. If they had, I would have been in the hole. If you have something to sell—do yourself a favor—don’t do business with Bluegrass Auctions."
"It doesn't get any better than this! After my mom passed away, I needed somebody who could handle the entire process from start to finish. They sold the house, car, furnishings etc... I live in SC so it was essential I hire somebody who could do the job without me being there. Not only did they get the job done, they far exceeded any expectations I had! And they're so kind to work with! Genuinely nice people. Big thanks to them!!"
"Bluegrass auction is ran as any other normal auction. Everything is now online bidding. Auctions are normally live on Sundays at 1 PM with an online silent auction that starts closing around 7 PM. Do not bid on anything you have not gone to the auction and looked at. Descriptions are not very good and pictures can be deceiving since it is very hard to tell the size of something from only a picture with no measurement or reference to show the size. I once bought what I thought was a pocket watch but turned out to be a tiny watch on a necklace for a woman. Learned my lesson on that one. NEVER forget about the buyers premium of 15% and calculate it i to you bidding. When you pay there is also a 3% additional charge for using your credit card. Happy bidding!"
"Very cool auction floor visited in person yeah looks gr8 online but u should visit store 2 get real feel & preview items. Their art appraiser did free on-the-spot quick guess of a worthless lithograph. If u need official appraisal evaluation in writing its $175 per hour. She has a Master degree in art 2 be qualified 2 do this is that cool or what."
"My wife and I are frequent followers of Bluegrass Auctions. Each purchase has resulted in customer friendly results. Their staff were most helpful in getting a huge desk in the back of my SUV."
