"I have known the owner Jeniffer since 2008. I will be relocating out of Austin soon and asked Jeniffer for a simple edge up tomorrow and will be back again next week for a fade. Every two weeks, for years like clockwork I have been getting my haircut at J Clips. Jeniffer quoted me over the phone ($75 before tips) for both cuts even though it would take her a total of 20 minutes. I made a comment as to why I believed that was a little ridiculous, especially with the fact that I have known her for 15 years and tip her 33% off every cut. ($45 haircut I ALWAYS left $60) She disregarded the business relationship and said “I am not your girlfriend I will charge what I want. If you don’t want to come fine. I don’t care about your money.” If that is how I am treated after nearly 2 decades of doing business and referring countless customers. Then that is why I am leaving this review. The blatant disrespect and mockery that came from unprofessionalism and greed."

"called this barber the day before I needed a haircut to make sure they accepted cashapp. "what time do you want to come in?" they asked. I replied with can I come tomorrow morning before noon? they said "no problem we'll see you then" so I come in and the guy just ignores me extensively when he hears me confirming about being able to pay with cashapp, finally when I get his attention he just mumbles in response to me for like 5 min saying he's booked and I didn't make an actual appointment I just said I was coming at a time then proceeds to tell me if I want a cut I have to wait for 3.5 hours and come back after 4:00.. it was noon at the time.. I ask if he's serious since I just talked to him the day before specifically about coming in this day before noon and he just continues to ignore me acting like he knows he's wrong. so I left and got an amazing cut at Ann's right down the road which was better by 10000x. avoid this place at all cost, as somebody with a business of my own I can tell you, they run a money hungry careless business."

"I went in for the first time two days ago and got my haircut. His name is Ali. He did an amazing job, was very friendly, talkative, and very professional. For sure I will come back again. Highly recommended"

"This barbershop is by far the worst place to get cuts. They overcharge and under deliver. Took my son to get a haircut today that is normally $25 and when my son asked the barber to cut a little more off the top, he cut way more then asked and at the end of the service told my son thats an extra $25 since he " had to do an extra cut ". Byrone provided the worst customer service and was very disrespectful. He grabbed $40 from my son and that was suppose to be for the $25 for the cut and change for a tip but he refused to give change back and demanded $10 more dollars saying the cut is now $50 but not until after he took our money. I had no more cash on me and Byrone refused to give back my change so a nice gentleman covered the $10 extra fee so that he would let us leave in peace. Sad-less to say we will never be coming back to Jay Clips ever again. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!"
