"I was scheduled for an induction. I started contracting and arrived at appointment time to be toward no beds are available and they didn’t know when I could get induction. Remind you I am full term pregnant, contracting and wasn’t heard. The staff was rude. I was sent home 3 times and never received a call to come in for induction. Instead I called several times to advocate for myself and my baby. I ended up going to another hospital and delivered my child."
"I’m here after a year and a half. The hospital and its service seemed great overall. The environment is clean the services were good but the care wasn’t. And I didn’t notice because at the time that was my first pregnancy and first time delivering. I didn’t know what to expect. They came off as kind, but after looking back I don’t think that was the case. My sons shoulder got stuck (which they didn’t tell me, I found that out through a different network with my current pregnancy) My uterus came out (or was coming out) due to it being wrapped around my placenta (something along those lines) and they had to manually push it back in. (Yes I was aware of that but they made it seem like it wasn’t a big deal) My epidural was disconnected/leaking due to the nurse or doctor who didn’t install it correctly. Lastly, I had preeclampsia and didn’t know it, my son went into the nicu after delivery and within 72 hours I get a call from my OB office telling me to get my blood pressure checked while I’m still at the hospital w my son. (note: I’ve been released and was no longer admitted) A nurse checked me and I was readmitted…. At the time I didn’t find NONE of this a big deal bc 1) I didn’t know any better 2) I’m not one to complain But again looking back it was a terrible experience in a good environment. As a pregnant woman and a woman whose giving birth, obviously we should feel safe, wanted by the network we’re paying and receive genuine care from the workers who willing wanted to be in the medical field/ a medical career. And I don’t like when ppl pull the race card, but I don’t know if the care I was given by Franciscan was bc of the color of my skin or if the hospital itself has poor care as a whole. Regardless, I would never choose them again nor suggest them. They swept way too many things under the rug to me."
"Came in here a few weeks ago at like 30 weeks pregnant with concerns of preeclampsia. After nurse Mallory and I don’t even remember my doctors name, made me cry because no one was taking my concerns seriously. I went to a different hospital and imagine that, preeclampsia. As a woman I know my body and I know when something isn’t right. In the end I’m my unborn baby’s voice, so when I speak, listen, because it could have cost me by child’s life and my life. Do better please, run the tests, take the extra mile, it’s your job. Even if I come in and we end up completely healthy, it’s better to do it and not need it than need it and not do it."
"Everything seemed great after 4 days of being here waiting . Until the lady named Shelley at the front desk came in. I asked for a blanket for my wife and was threatened to have security called on me for asking her name after she refused. The manager on staff seemed it necessary to come out soon after and have a go as well.i hope this lady is humbled some day in our position."
