"If I could give 0 stars I would. My experience with Vivo was horrible. They sent us pictures of our apartment prior to moving in and the pictures showed a fireplace...and we were told it was going to be a first floor apartment. We go to move in and it's a second floor apartment with no fire place. The apartment was not clean--there were dishes in the washer, refuse in the freezer, marks on walls, items in the utility closet. The laundry was free at first, but there was ONE WASHER AND ONE DRYER for 10 buildings with four units in each building. Eventually they started charging for laundry. The pool was green and inoperable for 90% of my year at Vivo. You have to watch your bill, as they will randomly change what they're charging you each month. My lease said $1417, but I was being charged $1454 some months and other amounts other months. The property was not maintained...I literally had trees growing out of the gutters and spiderwebs blocking the stairwell. I can't implore you strongly enough to AVOID this scam. 1/24/24 update- I’ve tried calling the office and no one answers. I not live out of state."
"I really enjoyed living here! It had short term lease, allowed pets, and had furnished apartments available. The location was great, close to cute restaurants like the Lauber and those on Eddy Street. They were also very close to Notre Dame and downtown South Bend. The neighborhood was in a nice area of the city and close to the water, too. Also across the street from a dog park, which is great if you have a pet."
"I've lived here since August after living in SB for the last 7 years. So far, the experience has been great! Above all, I appreciate DeAnna's (the property manager) hospitality and support -- she's been wonderful managing the entire community on her own and she deserves a raise! Just to be completely transparent, the community has had some issues with some neighbors who are not respectful of others. DeAnna has been great at managing this, but corporate should provide her (and us renters) with more support."
"If u could give zero stars, I would. Moved me into a apartment not up to code. Mold in the bathroom, ect. Every attempt to get all the issues fixed failed. When I brought up my issues with regional manager, she wanted to compensate me $250, even though I still couldn’t use my stove after 3 months being there. I reached out to corporate & i never heard anything back. This whole experience was a nightmare. Please save yourself the trouble. This is just a tid bit of what I experienced."
"This place is only out to get your money! I highly recommend avoiding if at all possible. I was looking for a studio apartment so I called. The lady seemed nice at first, but was trying to get me to rent a 1 Bedroom instead. I insisted I wanted the studio, and she finally gave in; that is, until I went to fill out the application, as she only sent me the quote for the 1 Bedroom. So, I told her again I was wanting the studio, but when I looked the next morning it was already filled (somehow overnight?). She told me not to worry and that I could just switch to the studio after filling out the application. I filled out the application and submitted my application and admin fee. I was then told I needed a cosigner, which I then found. Then, Vivo tried to get my cosigner to also pay the application fee! At this point, I told Vivo that I wanted to cancel my application and go another route. That was weeks ago, and they will still not give me my money back that I paid as my application fee. Again, I highly recommend finding another place to rent from. Best of luck!"
