SALEM CROWN APARTMENTS

"I was a tenant who paid rent on time every month with no issues. My apartment was well kept. 1. I had an altercation with another resident and was being harassed, when i brought it to managements attention they told me they can not intervene with tenant conflict and to contact police. When i contacted police they asked me why I didn’t contact management, as it is their obligation to protect paying tenants when the problem is related to the property or tenants behavior. Management should’ve made an effort resolve the issue before police became involved. 2. I was made aware on December 28th that I would not be allowed to renew my lease and I had to be gone by January 31st. No reason was given, as I’ve never been late with rent and I kept the apartment in good condition. When I asked why the company came to this decision they told me under the law they do not have to release the reason. I began my search for a new place to live, and when I was applying for new homes, several places told me they were unable to get in contact with Salem Crown, prolonging the process, as I already didn’t have much time to begin with. I found a new place that wasn’t going to be ready until February 7th. I asked management if I could stay just 1 more week, I had no where to go and no where to put my things until then, because nothing was available on such short notice. I was willing to pay rent for the whole month of February. I was told no, and under Ohio Law they only have to give me a 30 day notice of non renewal. But as we all know, lawful doesn’t not always equate to humane & ethical. I was pregnant and soon to be temporarily homeless. Might I add, the tenant I had a conflict with was able to renew their lease and has since created more conflict with other tenants… 3. I contacted AES to read the meter for my final electric bill, and they attempted to come out and read the meter a total of 3 times, each time they were unable to get to the meter. I contacted management about this and they told me it was a lockbox that AES should know the code to but evidently they did not. They were not successful in reading the meter until March 14th. By then I’d been out of the apartment well over a month but was still charged for electricity used by maintenance/new tenant. Whoever. I contacted management about this, they told me they would reach out to the new tenant about this, but I never got a response and was never reimbursed. I’m writing this because this was my first apartment I got on my own and it meant a lot to me. I made some great memories here but I was done so wrong. A lot of potential tenants ask me how my experience was with Salem Crown and instead of typing this over every time I will simply tell them to read my review on Google."

"I have noticed positive changes since the new management and ownership assumed control. The location is secure, and the service is of good quality. The management team is polite and professional, always ready to assist with any questions. The maintenance staff is also reliable and ensures that residents' needs are met. The units are well-kept and have modern appliances. One thing I appreciate about their communication is that they prefer emails and messages, which allows residents to revisit the information provided without having to request it again. They also have a call center for emergency maintenance requests. Overall, the complex is peaceful, although I have noticed a few residents who are dissatisfied with something, which is typical in any apartment complex."

"I love everything about this apartment! They are quick to get things fixed and handle all concerns and questions very fast. They keep you well informed about everything that is going on in the building. They genuinely care about the tenants that they rent to. I had a million and one questions they answered them all. Everyone I have dealt with was very respectful. I love it here."
