Marriott at the University of Dayton

"My 20+ day experience was spectacular. Torrey (one of the managers), went above and beyond to provide me with the upmost attention in custom service. He is attentive, professional, friendly, and strives to make every guest feel like they are at home. The housekeeping staff deserve a MAJOR shout out for their attention to detail and hard work. The front desk employees have fell nothing short of accommodating all of my needs. As someone who travels for work, I want to say bravo to this hotel in every aspect of my stay!"

"I've seen a lot of Marriotts, and this 1 isn't up to the usual quality of the brand. My room was very drafty due to the large uninsulated sliding door. The TV remote was filthy, and the bathrobe was on the closet floor instead of on a hanger. On the other hand, the food and beverage service in the concierge lounge was delightful! Daniel was very helpful. The rooms have a lot of charging outlets too, but the carpet wasn't really clean. Pics of the food included..."

"Service was phenomenal, every single staff member was great. Laura (working at the front desk) was extremely helpful. My boyfriend was sick and the staff made sure he got soup before dinner even started. chef personally delivered it. The hot tub and pool were nice as well as the restaurant. If I even come back to Dayton I’m 100% staying here again."

"Great location, clean rooms, nice staff. My main complaint: not good for families. Bathroom is a sliding glass door so you can hear everything going on in there. And I mean EVERYTHING! Really good for an individual traveler for business. With a family, not really a great choice. I love Marriott, but probably the last time I will stay here with family. Bathrooms need a fan and a door. I understand they are trying to make it "modern" but there is a certain advantage to privacy. The shower was difficult. I have a slight disability, but my kid, with no disability at all said it was a difficult shower to stand in. It kind of sloped and had nothing to grab on to for support. If you have any kind of disability, get a room that has support for that, and it you cannot get it, go somewhere else. Updated my review from 3 to 4 stars, #1 due to prompt response from management and #2, the rooms were really nice and clean as was the rest of the hotel. Hallway carpets (5th floor is only one I saw) could use a little maintenance (hallway carpet was a bit loose and could use some love). Overall, if you are here on business, you could do much worse."

"Really great welcome! The staff have been incredibly helpful and friendly. Really enjoyed the Starbucks coffee in the room. The pillow spray is a nice touch. We needed a rollaway bed- it was delivered quickly and the extra pillows and towels also came quickly- Very nice weight room. The shower amenities are lovely, and the lotion smells nice. Easily a high value hotel. The he carpet in the hall seemed to have some issues, like it needs tightened- but that was minor. Overall this is a beautiful Marriott."
