"I lived at High Point from July 2021 up until January 2024 and have waited to submit my review until I moved out. There are definitely pros and cons to living in this community. Pros: The community is very beautiful. If you enjoy lakes and greenery then you will love the vibe of this complex. One of my favorite things is the lake area. Maintenance was always very prompt. I never had any issues with getting work orders done. The apartment online portal was also very convenient and easy to navigate. Andrea and Jamilia were very helpful. I had a serious issue with my roommate and Jamilia immediately helped with the situation. Cons: Rent increase. When I moved into the complex in 2021 the rent was $1268. In 2022 the rent increased to $1443 for the same apartment with no upgrades. In 2023 they attempted to increase my rent again by another $140 dollar and I negotiated for a $75 increase instead. It is honestly ridiculous how much they increase the rent without upgrading anything in the apartments. Like what am I paying for? My ending rate was $1518. The office staff with the exception of Andrea and Jamilia are incompetent, specifically Gilbert. He is overly sarcastic and he lost my lease and tried to say it was our fault when it was not. It seems like they choose people to work there who have no prior experience. Very annoying. The USPS workers are always losing packages and delivering to the wrong mailbox. When I spoke to the office about them putting a sign just asking them to pay more attention they refused because they don't deal with the USPS side of things. Like? It is your job to be the liaison for your residents. The front gate is always broken but that not managements fault but they do need to do a better job with the roads inside of the complex because when it rains the streets flood. All in all, I would recommend Highpoint but don't expect excellence."
"So I apply and I had to fill out the application as usual and I was being assisted by Armando and I submitted all my information and he emailed me back 24 hours later saying that I need to provide my Social Security card and drivers license through an email, which we all know security desk that supposed to be uploaded when you’re doing your application but unfortunately I went and met with him to provide all my information and my application was still deny. It wasn’t deny by the man, the people that does the background of it it was denied by them but what was crazy was when I call to get the status of the application because he never contacted me back after getting my personal information I had to speak with someone else and then they told me false information like they didn’t see my application so basically, I would tell anybody not to apply with these people because they’re fraudulent. I have yet to hear back from their main office. They have all my information and they refuse to refund me my money, so if anybody is going to apply, you are been warned. Good luck"
"There are pros and cons of living here, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons! I’ll include both below: To give you some background: we live in a ground level 1bed 1bath upgraded unit and we LOVE it. We have almost been here for a year as well, so I feel ample time has passed for us to make a fair review. I will mention, you can expect an additional ~$80+ on top of your base rent for water, sewer, electric for the communal space, and valet trash which isn’t bad, just something to consider. Positives: Above and beyond friendly staff, beautiful landscaping, friendly neighbors, location close to everything (especially UCF), affordable, clean, the resident demographic ranges from young to old (which was important to us since we did not want to be surrounded by college students), good parking, and we live in a 1x1 upgraded unit (we LOVE it!). They also host a lot of resident activities which is AMAZING for getting to know your neighbors! Beautiful deck and GORGEOUS pool and lake!!! Gym is always clean as well and clubhouse hours are very reasonable, they do a superb job being responsive and attentive to the residents—they learned us by name within a week we moved in!! Areas for improvement: The dog park is extremely neglected, which is such a major disappointment for dog owners. The dog gates are damaged from every entrance and the grass is utterly destroyed within it. My neighbor’s dog was attacked by another dog because the gate was damaged at the bottom so the dog slipped through underneath and charged my neighbors dog, causing him to have to go to the hospital….. Maintenance sometimes creates additional issues when trying to fix what you needed originally, but I submit additional tickets and they do a good job completing them, plus they are super friendly and professional! Frederick is my favorite!!! I will say, the AC unit in our apartment is old and does not do a good job filtering the air (something to consider if you have respiratory issues/pets), the flooring is vinyl and can be damaged easily, but just put accent carpets and you’ll be alright! The buildings themselves are older so you might need additional things to be upgraded when you move in like the weatherstripping on the doors, the bottom of your front door so bugs don’t come in, the front door lock, and the screens on the windows, but they’re so quick with replacing these it’s amazing. Also, if we get some heavy rain, you can expect the parking lot to flood so if you have a low car, please consider this! Overall I am happy we chose this community, we have almost been here for a year and we couldn’t feel more at home! I’ll post another review if we extend our lease."
"Moved in at the price of $1170. After redoing a tiny fitness room and repaving the court the hosts BOTH the basketball and tennis court, rent jumped to $1290. One year later, rent was upwards of $1500 for a one bedroom. This is on top of roaches in the dishwasher, roaches in the bedroom, and a colony of ants coming through the bedroom window. I was also forced to evacuate during the Hurricane because the complex did NOT clean the gutters which caused them to back up and flood the parking lot. The gate is always broken and the administrative staff are useless."
"An excellent, clean, and quiet gated community. After a month of living at Highpoint club, I couldn't recommend it enough. The staff, especially Gilbert, led us the entire way showing us the potential for the apartments, leading us and quickly answering any questions we may have had, and succinctly guiding us along with the entire signing process. When we had some initial teething issues with our apartments key-lock, Gilbert was ready and happy to help us with solving these problems as quickly as possible, and not even an hour later all issues were solved. During community events such as the super-smash bros event, my roommate and I had an absolute blast playing with the other residents and Gilbert, enjoying a lovely community experience. I cannot understate how wonderful the experience has been, and I would recommend it to others as well."
