"Under new management. Dec. 2022. This is a unique, affordable senior independent living co sponsored HUD/ Episcopal diocese facility. Very well maintained. Friendly atmosphere. Monthly socials and holiday parties. There is programs including access to Meals on Wheels, weekly Christian services, fun and creative programs, a well stocked library room, and there is a community room with exercise equipment. West Building. Rents range from $550-$764 (efficiency to 1 bedroom (295-425 sq. ft)i) including utilities. Parking spaces. $60 mo. East Building is for Section 8 residents. I have lived here for 4 years. I feel blessed. This is independent living, an one of a kind senior housing high rise located in historic downtown. Offers many services for seniors 62+ and over. For me, it's a lucky find for culture buffs and convenient within walking distance to shops, churches, theatres, hospitals, College of Charleston. It offers many services and a home for 250 residents. I'm an artist and writer, so the views from my upper floor window is incredible (worth millions in other cities.) I'm inspired to paint everyday! Not perfect or 5 Star. ***NOTE. With so many perks, frankly, even though we have monthly pest control, we are challenged to control them ."

"BED BUG CENTRAL! For years my mother has dealt with this. When Sally would allow heat treatments to be done in the apartments, the problem would go away until the bugs laid eggs again. When Sally, “the director” would come through with maintenance workers to do inspections for bugs they would go through so quickly, that they’d never truly understand the realm of the issue. There will never be a nonexistent of bed bugs because it never gets solved properly. I hired my own exterminator which we had to beg Sally to allow! I was paying for it and she still had to be begged and then after he confirmed the infestation, Sally said she’d have a treatment done and that he didn’t need to do it. But I wanted him to do a PROPER TREATMENT. I’ve bought her so many beds and here we go again. They won’t move my mom either. I want her moved and I’ll buy all new furniture to hopefully an apartment that hasn’t possibly had bugs. Sally wants to leave blinders on, so that she could keep telling herself that the situation wasn’t, “that bad”. But more than half of the residents won’t come forward with how bad their apartments are because they’ve been told they’ll be kicked out. This is the only place these residents have. They’d rather suffer and be eaten alive then complain. How can Sally and Ann justify their actions. Bed bugs are the worst thing anyone can go through. Could you imagine not sleeping good for years off and on and being eaten alive. I’ve never seen a lack of sympathy that I’ve seen at this place. The laundry room never gets properly maintained, the bugs and eggs can’t die because the dryers aren’t hot enough nor the water. Here are other issues, you cannot drink the water, you cannot breathe after the maintenance men spray bug spray for weeks, because they’re not using commercial grade spray, they’re mixing their own concoction. The elevators are almost always broken, Sally claims the facility has no money to fix things nor do anymore heat treatments to apartments. Sally and Ann gossip with the residents which makes for a toxic environment. Ann is another worker at this facility. Sally chooses people whom she doesn’t like to keep from visiting residents. Sally won’t trespass them but she will verbally tell them they cannot visit. Most residents never have family visit and Sally goes out of her way to interject her opinions, on what’s good for a resident. When that said resident has not asked her to do so. They want their family to visit but Sally has made everyone feel so uncomfortable when entering that most just stay away. The persecution by Sally should be illegal. It’s a shame things have been allowed to get this far. I wish someone-in a position that could make change, would read these reviews and know there’s major issues. The bed bugs alone should be enough for someone to realize there’s elderly abuse happening. Not only physically are these people being abused by allowing them to be eaten alive, but their being verbally abused! STOP THE ABUSE OF ELDERLY COMMUNITIES"
