Caroline Apartments 99 Westedge Street, Charleston, SC 29403

"We had a good experience staying in Caroline Apartments, thanks to Hew and Chris for their professionalism, they always helped us out with different things and provided advice on what to do in town. The location was convenient, and we used bus a lot. MUSC parking is nearby, we left our car there. Apartment had a great view on the river. I only wish pool was cleaned a bit more often. The club room was nice and had great events, where we won a lot of small prizes!"

"This is FAR from a “Luxury” apartment. There is trash and pet waste in hallways and elevators all the time. It does not ever seem to be cleaned. I’ve had multiple maintenance issues needing to be addressed in the few months that I’ve lived here and they are not responded to in a timely manner. To get a simple light bulb changed takes over a month and multiple maintenance requests as they don’t ever answer the phone in the leasing office. I waited 1.5 months for my bathroom ceiling leak to be repaired. The bathroom vent was not working due to the leak. The ceiling is now black and moldy looking where the “repair” was done. Looks like it will leak again at anytime. My freezer has not been working for 3 months now. (Since middle of September it’s now end of November) I have put in multiple maintenance requests to fix it. I contacted management asking for compensation for the food I had that has gone to waste multiple times over the last 3 months. They responded by emailing me that compensation for my wasted food is not necessary. I no longer am able to buy any frozen foods due to it still not working. They claim to be ordering parts and give me dates on when the parts will be in and those dates come and go and still 3 months later no parts have come in. 3 months without a freezer and wasting money on food at a “luxury” apartment is crazy. The parking garage is so inconvenient with it being so empty and still only being able to park on the 6 & 7 floor. Taking 5-10 minutes to enter and exit the garage from the top floors and still having to pay and additional $85 a month to park at the top of the garage. I will NOT be renewing my lease here and do not recommend this complex to anyone. Counting down until my lease is over and I can pay to live somewhere that has a functioning freezer again."

"What a lovely place to live! The amenities are awesome, among them being a shuffle board table in a club room, a gym and private pool on the second floor, nice complimentary coffee machine. They even have special events catered!. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. Laura in the office is a darling and will stop what she is doing anytime to help out. The security is great too, right next to the police station and secure parking garage. Its even across from the RIVER DOGS!!!! I could not be more impressed!!"

"Newly relocated to Charleston, my first choice when searching was Caroline Apartments. At first I thought there was no way I could afford or get a place downtown, in walking distance to my job on King Street. I had my mom tour Caroline Apartments and she insisted it was the place for me! I did everything online and via email with my application process. The staff were super communicative and helped me get everything together for my move. Chris and Laura were great from start to finish. My pups and I are settling in nicely and loving the location can’t wait to make good use of the amenities. It’s a super dog friendly community with everything you need close by. There is even a free bus shuttle by the apartment to take you all around downtown I recently found!"

"Only lived at Caroline for a year, but the location combined with the quality of the building and amenities made it perfect for me. Caroline is directly across the street from the Riverdogs (if you don't like hustle and bustle in the evenings it could get overwhelming) but for a baseball fan it was incredibly fun to live here. During the time I lived at Caroline I went to about 5 of their many community events that are so inclusive and diverse in their interests. I could tell they put a lot of care and thought into executing these events for residents. New staff that came in about halfway through my lease are very excellent and caring, I never had a negative interaction and they were helpful to a T. The building is right next to the MUSC parking, Citadel stadium, Riverdogs stadium, and Brittlebank park so there's always something going on, like I mentioned before if car/pedestrian traffic upsets you this is a common occurance here. Loved being right above the Domino's, Jimmy John's and Hokkaido. Beautiful pool, very new appliances, and a clean building that's well kept. Recommend living here for a fun apartment life in the city."
