"I love living here! Located in a perfect part of town with quick access to upper king, hampton park, I-26 and park circle. The management company is so nice, and quick to address issues if and when they rarely arise. Renovation is within the last five years, some even within one year."
"Roaches, roaches, and more roaches. There is a disgusting amount of cockroaches here. To the property's credit, they do occasionally spray for pests. On two separate occasions, we have paid professional exterminators to come and fumigate, but to no avail. I still kill 4 roaches a day, minimum. I was born and raised in the area so I know what to expect in terms of pests but this place has a problematic pest presence with at least 2 different species of cockroaches. Ultimately this is not why I chose to rate this "luxury" living space so poorly. Aside from the lackluster assistance provided from the property management, this place just does not offer anything to tenants besides a decent location downtown. Located close by to parks and a couple bars, the proximity to happening spots has been great! That, unfortunately, is where my praise begins and ends. Although sweet, the property manager seems stretched too thin between their other properties, to be able to properly assist current tenants with major issues like package theft, stray cats living on premise, or parking. Not to mention the elevator. From the outside, the lift doesn't look so bad. The inside is dilapidated and heavily worn; panels literally ripped from the wall. My family, on three different occasions, has gotten stuck inside said elevator. The security is mostly an illusion. We do have an entry system controlled via an app. The app and codes are mostly a tracker for the apartment complex to know who is coming or going since all passcodes are tied to lease holders names and apartments. Counterintuitively, one side door is left unlocked 24 hours a day, everyday of the week. If the app was truly for safety, the side door would be locked down at all times. Thankfully the new system has stopped unhoused men from continuing to sleep under the stairs. Parking is available, which is great. Unfortunately it is first come, first serve and there are not enough spaces provided. This is fine if you only work mornings. They have a pretty big lot, so some people have better luck finding a place to park! They do tow and there have been problems between tenants, (myself included), and the towing company. My biggest issue has most certainly been the lack of natural light. Though the artificial lights are sufficient in lighting the entire apartment, they give a sterile feel to the entire building. My two bedroom space has only one window in the entire apartment and it has a negative effect on one's mental health. Trash is weird because they offer "trash removal" but that's just a misleading term to say the city comes to pick up your trash from the dumpster. Just like every other rental within the city limit. Pro-tip: Do not leave trash outside your door or they will fine you. To clarify: THEY DO NOT OFFER VALET TRASH. Some of these issues are wholly personal and individually problematic. I hope other tenants have enjoyed their stay here and will leave better reviews so others can better understand what it is like living here! Pros: lightly renovated, great location, water included, free parking if available, 'ExPoSeD bRiCk!!!!', young neighbors. Cons: heavy pest presence, little assistance from property managers, stray animals, potential to get towed in your own residence, lack of natural light, above average rent pricing for size."
"Great apartment complex! We moved in on January 2022 and we are delighted with our choice. It's in a great Area with so much new development going on around us with new bars and restaurants. Jennifer the property manager is a joy to work with."
"The old County Hall! This building has history. The grounds are always being updated and renovated. The renovated apartments are beautiful! It’s obvious they decided to invest wisely. From cabinetry to baseboards everything is solid. I am so happy that this is where I decided to live in Charleston. The prices are incredible and you get the amazing smell of Rodney Scott’s BBQ every mornin when you walk to your car! (Rodney Scott’s is about a 2 minute walk) Oh and did I mention the building has a private parking lot? No need to fight or even pay for parking. You have a well maintained and security patrolled parking lot to leave your car. Just excellent! Thanks to the property manager, Jennifer. She is fantastic for showing me this. She had other properties I looked at but this is the one I chose. She has been responsive and helpful in anything I have needed. Thanks 1000 king for your glow up."
"Great location with plenty of parking in a great location. Walking distance to Park Cafe, Rodney Scotts, Palmetto Brewing, Little Jack's and more! Hard to beat value on the Peninsula. Neighbors and management company are friendly and easy to get along with. The recent upgrades make this place hard to pass up!"
