The Lindy Renaissance Charleston Hotel 68 Wentworth Street, Charleston, SC 29401

"Overall, a solid hotel. The location in Charleston is excellent and makes it to where you can walk to many of the popular areas in the city. The room was nice, clean, and the bed was comfortable. Customer service was nice and they also had complimentary water at the front desk. Although there are cuter boutique hotels in the area, this one is great if you want to stay within the marriott brand."

"We had a very pleasant long-weekend stay celebrating our anniversary! Hotel is well located: walking distance to shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. Staff was accommodating. Dana, the concierge (Navigator), went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, giving us suggestions on what to do and where to eat and sending a bottle of Spumante, chocolates, and nuts to the room to help us celebrate! If there’s a criticism to be made, it would be the fact that housekeeping leaves piles of towels, etc all over hallways making it aesthetically unpleasant to the guest!"

"Well located for visiting downtown Charleston. Rooms are nice. Hot and Handy convenient for a small bite. The pool area looks much larger and nicer in the photos (don't pick this hotel for the pool). The only problem I had was getting my "guaranteed" late checkout as part of my Bonvoy benefits - it's like the front desk staff had never even heard of it."

"Hotel is in a great location. However it's not well maintained and service was subpar for a Marriott / Renaissance. We had problems with thermostat stuck, pillows were lumpy, didn't get soap & towels by housekeeping, and rooms were dark. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience when they turned the water off in the hotel and wasn't back on for almost 24 hours. No warning, and no shower or flushing toilet. Front desk wouldn't move us to another hotel or maybe use a local fitness center for a shower. Received no credit for the inconvenience by the hotel until I complained to Marriott corporate office. I understand these things happen, but also expect a good hotel to compensate for it in some other way."

"Really liked this boutique hotel. Nice setting that is centrally located. Nice pool on rooftop. Rooms in good condition with comfy beds. Guest areas are elegant and aesthetically pleasing, yet comfortable. Did have a room service charge on our bill that we didn’t incur. Waiting to hear back that they will remove that."
