"Scam"

"Today I called to inquire about a place actively listed online, the man who answered the phone said "its no longer available and all the places that are still available are still listed" and then just abruptly hung up. Super rude and unprofessional!"

"Jason Lax, Jay Lax, Lax Zishe are all the same person. Probably needed to create aliases after burning his own reputation with clients. This guy tried to charge 16.3% commission of the annual rent for a $1430 1br which is being turned over to the next tenant in “As, is” condition. That’s an extra charge of $2800 for an apartment that is completely destroyed. I would have paid 15% without any problem, the fact that he wanted to take advantage and charge more than what is the customary maximum 15% charge is what led me to write this review. To make matters worse, I am a fellow real estate agent in Nyc who was searching for an apartment of my own. He showed zero professional courtesy, and offered no explanation as to why he was charging anymore than what is the customary maximum on a piece of garbage apartment that would require out of pocket repair expenses. I would have been willing to accept the apartment as it was then perform my own repairs and update the apartment. Once I heard the Outlandish and completely atypical 16.3% commission, I told him he was ridiculous and asked him to justify the extra charge. He stopped responding and I am embarrassed for him. How unprofessional. I looked up his name and found numerous complaints over the last decade!!! Look for the Reddit story where his name is invoked. And take a look at the apartment which he was charging a 16.3% commission on. You are the reason NYC real estate agents are universally maligned by the public."
