"Major shoutouts to Cameron and Michelle for being so kind and helpful. They were patient, understanding, and responsive. Level BK has a fantastic staff & anyone would be lucky to live there."
"Update: A recent experience with the management of the building amenities has changed my perspective and unfortunately I can no longer recommend Level, particularly if you're female. Avoid, there's lots of other options, safety is more important. My experience since move-in has been nothing but wonderful. All building staff, as well as Clinton Management, has always been welcoming, friendly and super responsive, and Bernel is truly fantastic! I'm surprised to read so many negative comments, but it is a large building, and statistically dissatisfied people are more likely to write reviews, but as someone who has lived in many rental buildings, in many cities around the world, I've found Level to be of the highest quality. Yes, there are rules (e.g. please don't allow your dog to pee on the building right next to the entrance door because it's disgusting), but that's a necessity given the building size, and they're intended to prevent abuse and ensure that all residents can fairly utilize the common areas and facilities. IMO it's a fair trade off for the convenience (in unit package delivery, 25 hour gym, pool). In regards to the fan noises from the MTA, not ideal, although personally I find it barely noticeable. Ultimately it's an extraordinary situation given the L train construction plan fluctuations and it was quite obvious that management fought the good fight to reduce the noise as much as possible (they sent regular and numerous updates on their meetings w/ the MTA and the solution put in place to dampen it). The reality is that in a city like New York (or any major urban environment) there will always be external uncontrollable factors and the fan noise is quite minor in comparison to say, real construction next door. Yes, it's a rental building, so perhaps you're not going to get the same finishes as buying, but I've found the standard to be quite high and the maintenance staff quick and helpful. They usually come the same day even for a non-critical issue. Most importantly, the people who work at Level are genuinely exceptional, and make living here truly feel like home. Of course, everyone has their own priorities, but IMO that's priceless."
"We love this building! There are some reviews here about the MTA fan. People should be aware that there is no noise from the vent. It stopped in Aug 2020 when the L train construction completed. There is another review here about the floors being soft and easily scratch-able, unfortunately this is definitely true. Aside from this small issue, the building and staff has been amazing. The best place I have ever lived and so glad I moved here. Thank you Level"
"My roommate and I lived here for 2 years. Overall, we had a very good experience, but could see some of the issues that people have had. Pros: - Amenities and views are outstanding. I will miss the rooftop a lot. - New amenity provider is a major step up from the old one and hosts a lot of events - Friendly neighbors, easy to meet people - No maintenance issues during our time - Ideally located near waterfront parks and close to restaurants/bars Cons: - If you have a unit on the side with the MTA fan, I have heard it's noisy - Steam room/sauna was under construction majority of our time there - Water fountain in gym never seemed to work properly - Lots of dog urine on the sides of building - Elevators seemed to stop working frequently"
"We lived here for two years. There were lots of things to like about level, starting with the super friendly staff. Unfortunately the management is the worst I've had in my 20 years living in NYC. Poorly managed, amenities never open and endless empty promises. To top it all off we just moved and received a massive bill for "damage to the floor". The floors are cheap wood veneer and super super soft. If you walk on these floors they will be damaged. We heard similar things from our friends in the building in addition to other crazy charges ($500 for a dirty stove, $400 to clean a the fridge). The worst part of our experience is that the floors were scratched when we moved in! If you're contemplating moving in here make sure you are ok with signing away your entire security deposit. Oh, and they also charged us for a rent when we were supposed to receive a concession. They would never refund and instead said it would be returned with our deposit. Clearly a money grab and I would imagine illegal!! BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!"
