"Horrible. I had a guy named teo who was so nice in the beginning, ask for all of my information. He told me i need to give a $500 deposit and it will be refunded. This man ghosted me after that and i had to send him multiple messages for him to send back my refund. I still have yet to get my refund and i will be suing this company. please do not work with them. they are scammers!!!"
"i has an awful experience with elias. he showed me on apt on dec 2 and said to put a good faith deposit down to take the unit off the market. i paid the deposit and finished the application on dec 3rd. he told me my application looked good and things were going well. after essentially no news he calls me on dec 8 and says the unit has been rented to someone else. huh???? what was the point of a deposit then?? he tells me and the two other roommates that theres an identical apartment across the hall with a spare room so its slightly more expensive. we reluctantly agree despite not seeing the place. he says he will have an answer on monday morning. in this time i ask him what are the chances of getting approved. he says they are excellent and the landlord likes our file. dec 11 rolls around and he starts texting us for more personal information. he discloses to one roommate that we might need another roommate. this is in spite of the higher price. he does not disclose this to all of us. at this point i demand more transparency and he says he will have an answer by tuesday morning. tuesday afternoon comes and he randomly sends us pictures of another apartment. i ask him if this means we got rejected and he says yes. i ask him where this came from as he was saying this entire time that our application was good and we basically had the apartment. me and another roommate say we want our money back. he proceeds to try and sell us another place. absolutely unbelievable. additionally it is impossible to contact anyone here. the broker violated our contract by continuing to have the listing for the apartment up. i want my money and time back. i wasted so much time on this scammer"
"I have very mixed feelings about the integrity of Zalmar at My Space NYC. He has been very responsive and helpful and unit we wanted to rent was available until we mentioned the city awarded us a voucher we wanted to use towards rent. Things changed immediately, he stopped answering, gave lame excuses about having to check with landlord if unit was still available and then went into hiding. My space NYC clearly refers to Discrimination Law on their footer, however when it comes to take the side of the law, then it’s a different story. Not a realtor you want to deal with"
"I had a great experience working with Luis Ortiz at MySpace NYC. Unlike most of the other agents I interacted with during my most recent search for an apartment rental, Luis seemed genuinely interested in helping me find my new home. He was professional, courteous, answered all my questions (and I had a bunch!), and was very responsive when texting/calling/emailing. Thanks so much, Luis! *Ten month follow-up: I've lowered my rating from 5 to 3 stars because what neither Mr. Ortiz nor MySpace NYC failed to notice was the not-terrible-but-not-great water bug/roach situation in the apartment and building I ended up moving into. Again, I want to stress that Mr. Ortiz was very professional and earnest in wanting to help me find a new place to live. And I'll also acknowledge my own lack of proper research before moving into my place. That said, I do think it's the job of any reputable realtor/realty company to conduct due diligence of the properties they represent. And to claim ignorance, as MySpace NYC did in my particular situation, just doesn't cut it, not when I've paid said company for their services."
"I had a great experience signing a lease with Cassandra. By far the most positive experience I’ve had with a realtor—efficient, friendly, communicative and professional. I have a dog which has made finding apartments in the city difficult, but Cassandra advocated for me and got my application approved even though the landlord doesn’t typically allow pets. She went above and beyond to help even after the lease was signed. Highly recommended."
