"The good: The apartments are nice and the price is good. The bad: Bad neighborhood and unreliable management. I lived in the building for almost 5 years. When I first moved in I thought the management was bad. They were rude, they'd talk down to you, and seems offended any time you would contact them. Towards the end of my time living there, new management came in. They were worse. While they are very polite to your face, you can't count on them for anything. You call and call and call and eventually they'll answer. They will be very nice on the phone and ensure you that whatever problem you have will be solved quickly. They promptly forget about your issue. Then you repeat the process of calling them again. Even after moving out I have had problems receiving my deposit. They ensured me that I would receive my deposit but after calling several times it does not seem like they have any interest in doing so. There were many other issues, such as the so called "assigned" spaces. They will change you extra for a parking space but will do absolutely nothing to ensure that your space is available to you. Overall it is simply not worth the headache. It won't be hard to find a better apartment because they set the bar so low."
"Greatest management I have experienced in the City of Syracuse. In particular, Ernesto. He was very informative and helpful with all contact and communication concerning my apartment venture. He is very professional and is a great representation for the company's management. Not to mention that the apartments he manages appear to be top of the line and worth every penny."
"I have been living at the James apts since last may. I love my place. Its quiet and with the cost of national grid and cable included i dont have to worry about paying that expense. The manager Ernesto is awesome and has always answered any question i have had. I needed my tub appoxied and he got this done quick. Great service overall. I plan on staying for a long time."
"Worst apartment building I've ever lived in. Never saw cockroaches or bed bugs even living in NYC for 4 years until I moved back to good old Syracuse. Drug deals all over the building, scumbags living here shouting and screaming beating their kids. killed over 40 mice in my apartment. Had cockroaches swarming my kitchen with absolutely no food on the counter or in sight. The elevator is broken 60-70% more than it works and even when it does somehow work it feels like you're going to die in it. Management is cheap, rude, unhelpful and verbally aggressive... don't waste your money. Go buy a tent and live in the woods. At least you won't get stuck in an elevator. Been trapped in the elevator over 3 times since I've lived here management would rather pay a repairman to come over 3 times in one day for over a year than replace the elevator. If I knew I was paying 700 per month to live in a bug/rat infested building with the features I was showed never to work I would have never ever moved in here. This building g should be condemned and the property managers should all be ashamed of themselves charging this outrageous rent for shitholes with heat so dangerously hot it can start fires. Literally have to open all the windows in my apartment just so I can breathe and not turn into beef jerky. I wish I could give this building -5 stars and that still wouldn't be enough"
"The property managers are cold and extremely unhelpful. The apartments are ok but you would think with the rigorous screening process to get in the tenants would be of a higher caliber. You pay to have them put your A/C unit in and out and a lot of little odd things. There are much better apartments in Syracuse."
