"These people give me so much stress. I know most landlords are the worst but they go beyond bad. Don’t live here if you want to be mentally sane."
"Friday, July 23, 2021 I put in a work order because my HVAC unit with Ticon Properties-Bentley Ridge was not cooling off my apartment although it had been running all day at 65 degrees it still read 82 degrees in my apartment. They had a maintenance guy come out to check it. He said that the unit froze over and changed the air filter. He asked the property manager to provide a portable (window) unit and was told that they did not have any available. I was left to find somewhere to stay for Friday night. I returned home Saturday morning to see that it was still hot and reading 85+ degrees in my apartment. I called the property manager Will Freeman and was told that they didn't have a unit available and unfortunately no one would be able to fix it until Monday. I asked if they were able to credit my account for not being able to stay in my apartment now for going on 3 nights due to uncomfortable living conditions in the middle of summer where every day is high 80s to low 90s. I was told this was not something they do because they have sent out a maintenance guy that was unable to resolve my issue. I asked for him to have his General Manager reach out to me because that was not them exhausting all their options to keep their tenant happy that has paid their rent early for the last two years. Monday, July 26, 2021, the general manager Chercez Mangum reaches out and says the same thing that she asked the property manager to provide a window unit “IF” one was to become available again on a day that is high of 90 degrees. I asked if the technician was unable to fix the HVAC was their anyway I would be compensated for not being able to stay in the apartment for the last three days and possibly longer since this was considered an emergency work order. I was told that their POLICY is not to credit an account as long as someone looked at it within a timely fashion. She said that previous clients have waited 2-3 weeks for their HVAC units to be fixed and that the middle of the summer without air conditioning was not considered an emergency based off their policy. I asked for her to email me a copy of said policy and was told that it isn’t a written policy. So, Ticon Properties has made it clear that they do not care about their resident’s health nor well-being. If I had no other options for housing while my apartment is reading between 82-90 degrees, uncomfortable to live in and feeling warmer than outside overnight, that I would just have to deal with it regardless of my health issues, well-being, or possible age. This could have all be resolved by the management purchasing a window unit to keep me comfortable instead of telling me they don’t have it and that I’ll just have to wait until Monday."
"This is the best rental property company. They know how to treat their residents."
"SLOGAN $OUTDATED EQUIPMENT WITH A MODERN DAY PRICE $ When you read a NEW Quality of life on the brochure make sure you understand this does not mean appliances. I have lived there from 2014 to September 1st 2016. Lets give you the run down real quick...... First 2 weeks I layed on the carpet some little insect jumped on me and I called said I have flees in the carpet they stated to me OUR APARTMENTS DO NOT HAVE FLEES (If i could attach a picture I would of the 4 flees I pulled from the carpet and brought to my professor who ensured they were) so I bought my own "bug bomb" and took care of the issue..... Second the Appliances, they do a great job at cleaning exterior but if you are like me who tries to fix the problem before you escalate you actually see the creative work that is done in order for a 1990 piece of equipment to work. I have found my alarm to be 15 years old after calling the manufacturing company. A Garbage disposal with things stuck on the inside. A Refrigerator that has never been cleaned underneath behind or in the creases where bacteria form! An outdated Oven that is hotter or colder than its settings List goes on but my biggest let down AC unit has stopped working 4 times a a R-22 model 38ay***** just look up R-22 it is an outdated AC unit.. An also when you are sitting in a 88 apartment when its 94 outside and you call in to speak with someone that says thats not hot enough for an emergency you question it The Maintenance guy if he looks or sounds irritated DO NOT BLAME HIM i am sure he would be happier working on updated equipment than outdated equipment (TO BE HONEST THE HANDY MAN I THINK HE NEEDS A RAISE HE IS THE ONLY REASON WHY THIS PLACE IS NOT BURNT TO THE GROUND)"
