"A very nice place to stay"
"Awesome location to stay, apartments are very nice and affordable. Had an issue with my wifi and they solved it right away"
"This apartment complex has mostly been vacant for over a year, with very few cars around the parking lot and no visible people.. It was initially advertised as a 55+ complex, but now has changed its name. I’m wondering if it was sold or repurposed to be a different type complex? Perhaps for student housing instead of older individuals? It’s a very nice looking complex, has a pool and decent parking, but the amount to rent was rather high for a retiree person. Hopefully they will start leasing some of the places - it’s been a while sitting!"
"Nice Complex! Exterior Tour by viewing attached 40+ photos.. **It appears this complex has not yet opened to the general Public** APPEARANCE Looks nice from the view available to someone walking around the perimeter: great unpaved walkway around the entire complex, two grills, well-sized pool with covered lounge area connected to front office, at least 3 pet-bag dispensers, lots of parking, new-looking AC units. See pictures. NOISE LEVEL/LOCATION The complex is quiet and relatively secluded, with back units adjacent to a mixture of wooded area and a residential-sized building. It has two entrances, both on a relatively unpopulated two-lane road (Western Bypass). It is very close to a highway exit/entrance, which runs North/South in the section closest to the complex. There is a new sidewalk adjacent to the front (roadside) of the complex, which extends down to the nearest intersection, but in the southward direction it dead ends into thick brush making it tricky to walk up the next hundred yards to the intersection of Pickett & Western Bypass. Immediately next door is a low-traffic commercial plaza with a storage company and a couple small indiscernible shops. There are little if any restaurants/shopping within walking distance (a mile) of the complex. On the other side of the complex is some brush and then an intersection with accessible highways. SURROUNDING AREA Beyond the storage unit next door (to the South), there are a hundred yards of to-be developed space with ongoing construction. Hard to say whether it’s residential or commercial, but there are a few areas with foundation laid). Continuing south along western bypass, there is a stretch of completely undeveloped, wooded area with no visible entrance/exits and no sidewalk, then an open field that connects to commercial property. That is where western bypass dead ends into Pickett, and the commercial lot has a single building, which has had a virtually empty parking lot for the past few years, and a sign for Brassfield self storage. BENEFITS —Nearby storage: two companies within 1/4 mile. There is a brassfield self storage building directly next door to the complex, and a one-minute drive in the same direction brings you to an additional brass field storage. Within a mile, there are also two CubeSmart locations, which have temp-controlled indoor units. —The amenities and infrastructure look new —it seems well-lit at night — there are privacy fences or trees around almost all of the complex — seems to be ample parking. NEARBY (With a Car) —North: 5 minute drive to Duke West Campus, Al Buehler Hiking Trail, high-end Hotel —South: a 5 minute drive to major retail/restaurant hubs on 15-501 (includes Wells Fargo, Giant Target, GameStop, a few grocery stores, Sam’s Club, half a dozen fast food joints (McDonalds, BK, CookOut, Chik fil A), ABC store, 3+ car repair shops, a large thrift store for furniture and clothes, and a dozen or more sit-down restaurants. —East/West: other than an intersection with highway access, the square 2-3 miles are almost all residential. Mostly suburban neighborhoods, but a few other apartment complexes. SUMMARY: Looks new, spacious, private, and convenient if you have a car. I’m sure you can learn more by calling the office or browsing their website (if it’s up yet!). To a passerby—who has lived in this area for 5 years, and 3 as a Duke graduate student—this place looks worth checking in to if you’re looking in this area!"
