"Went to check out Glenbrook East & West and waited patiently without being greeted for 10 minutes while a woman helped somebody else fill out an application. The woman continued to help her and didn’t speak to us again so after another 20 mins of waiting we left. First red flag. Another apartment complex we looked at called Hawks Nest to our dismay directed us to the same leasing office again which is owned by the same company. We went inside and there wasn’t anybody there so waited for 5 mins then an older couple had arrived as well. After an additional 5 mins a leasing agent came in and asked what brought us in. We told her and she said another worker would help us out. She helped the older couple finding out that they had been waiting 2 weeks for their dishwasher to get fixed. Second red flag. When the second leasing agent came in she had showed up and greeted us. Another young woman had came in inquiring about a maintenance order she had put in back in September that hasn’t been completed. Thats red flag number 3. The leasing woman told her she would get another agent to help her out and she took us to view the apartment. The apartment was nice even thought it wasn’t the make or model we asked to see. We went back to the office and she was very helpful in the information she had given us. However to our surprise in the middle of the woman giving us the needed information another leasing agent had came in and tapped her on the shoulder telling her to clock out and that they had to close. Which was extremely rude and confusing since the office closed at 5:30 this happened at 3:30. Between the leasing office and obvious lack of care from maintenance it’s definitely a no from me for any apartment complex owned by them. By far worst first impression and viewing experience in North Carolina."
"DO NOT RENT HERE! I have never written a bad google review, but this facility is so apathetic I can't find the words to describe it accurately. Our AC unit stopped working in June, our apartment was 85 degrees for 3 days and the maintenance staff couldn't be bothered. We went to request in person and were told they would arrive within the hour, nothing 4+ hours later pending a 97 degree day, which in NC is considered an emergency by law. Save your time and money, look elsewhere."
"Roach infested, really terrible housing conditions, not even good enough to be section 8 housing!"
"If you're thinking about moving into this neighborhood, you need to be aware that the property manager, Sylvia C., is a legendarily malicious and petty person. She used to manage Audubon Lake; there are plenty of reviews of her time that you should look up. And you should take note that she responds with incoherent rage to these reviews. She is accomplished at breaking housing laws in surreptitious ways - ex: she absolutely discriminates against protected classes. The townhouses themselves are fine, but unmaintained. The park next door is nice, but it was pretty well known that Ticon pollutes this park with garbage. And whenever they send people to work on the neighborhood, you'll be dodging nails, fiberglass, and bottles of urine that Ticon employees leave behind. Other incident of note: One Memorial Day weekend, our AC went out on Friday. No one could be reached through any of Ticon's service lines. Our townhouse got to 90 degrees inside. Nobody came until Tuesday. We were taking our small child to Target for hours so she didn't have a heatstroke in her own home. But hey, Sylvia doesn't care about YOUR children. Good luck."
