"I initially went to Lowes for a quote. Lowes was a little wishy-washy about everything and the quote seemed extremely high so we visited Granite Depot‘s Waynesville location on a Saturday and were greeted by very polite and knowledgeable staffers. Our sales assistant took our measurements and looked at pictures of the existing formica countertops. He came up with an estimate right there on the spot, which was considerably less than what Lowes had quoted. Three days later, a guy shows up at our house on-time and uses a sophisticated laser beam measurement system to record exact measurements of the kitchen and counters. I was impressed with that technology. We had three more square feet than we thought. Those measurements were loaded into an automated cutting system back at the granite depot workshop, and the granite was cut. Less than a week later I get a call and they are ready to install our countertops. I thought it was gonna take longer, but they came out to the house and installed the counters in one day, this included ripping out all the old counters. It is a dusty affair, but they did their best to minimize the amount of dust contamination in the house. Their system for joining the seams was remarkable. I have never seen countertop seems so perfectly done. In the world of the Unremarkable, these guys were instead very Remarkable."
"We hired Granite Depot of Asheville to install our kitchen countertop, a very basic no frill U-shape countertop, it took 6 tries and 1.5 months to complete the job. First time, a piece was not cut correctly and had to go back to the shop. The pieces that were installed had cracks and chip corner. Second time, the installation crew came back to install the remaining piece and fix the chip and cracks. The patched chip looks like someone sticked a piece of gum on it. The edge of the sink hole was uneven so faucet wouldn’t go on straight. Third time, Granite Depot of Asheville sent D the fixer to come repaired imperfections, essentially to fill, grind and buffed out all the chips and cracks. It was decided the job needed to be reinstalled. Fourth time, the same installation crew came back with re-cut pieces but the finished edge for 2 of the 3 pieces were incorrect. Fifth time, the same installation crew came back with re-cut pieces, but finished edge was not uniform, the edge for two pieces were rounder than the rest. At this point, we are exhausted and just settled for good enough! Sixth time, upon inspection the next day, the granite was barely sealed. D the fixer came back and applied sealant. I supposed the positive was Granite Depot of Asheville is willing to fix their errors and eventually you’ll get the final product that’s good enough. At the end, you’re wore out and just want it to be done with, so good enough it is! If you’re spending thousands and looking for that “ah I love my granite countertop” feeling, stay away from Granite Depot of Asheville."
"Within 6 months of install, granite counter tops started staining. We didn't know if it was normal or not, it's not normal. We emailed the company, no one responded, a month went by and we called. They told us it wasn't their fault, although they obviously didn't seal them correctly. Pretty infuriating. Terrible customer service and lack of accountability, which seems to be a common thread in bad reviews here."
"Granite was templated with a laser device. The slab was cut incorrectly. Danny our sales guy tried to blame the issue on us. Said our universal sink was not an under mount sink. He then wanted to charge a surcharge for installers to come back out Later he called and said I needed to buy a new sink and finally the installer came back. With the same piece of stone added a piece to the piece wrongly cut , United the seam and ground the stone to perfection to make the cutting error look perfect. Thank goodness for a great installer Jose. Don’t deal with Danny our sales guy and frankly don’t deal with granite depot. Find someone who is willing to make the job right and not blame the customer for the shops error."
"Granite Depot wonderful to deal with when we had a built in desk removed and a bar built in our existing kitchen. Jeannia, our salesperson, was fantastic. Everyone we dealt with were very knowledgeable, patient and communicated with us during the entire process even though it was a small job. Thank you for a job well done!"
