"Decided to stop here while in Durham for an appointment at the Duke Eye Center in February 2023. Our burgers were fantastic, and the Bryant Bridge Gateway Golden Ale I enjoyed was crisp and delicious. My burger was simple, topped with aoli and ketchup with a side of dirty fries; my guest opted for the pimento burger and the Duck Frites (string potatoes fried in Duck grease). In the next two months, we had two more appointments at the Eye Center, and stopped here afterward each time — and had an equally enjoyable experience."
"Super chill vibes and cool atmosphere, love the look inside. Nice bar area and plenty of long picnic table style seating for food. It’s a bit pricey for a burger, but they have some great burger options. The pimento burger was a little underwhelming, pickle was overpowering and not enough pimento spread to really even taste pimento over the pickle. One of their best burgers is the over easy burger with eggs and bacon however, and is reportedly delicious. Good crispy fries, like the Mason jar style water cups. They also offer a secret burger with “secret” meat, but if you want to find out the meat it’s easy to google it. Definitely for adventurous eaters only, one type of meat is fried tarantula for example. All in all nice place for lunch to grab a decent burger that’s not a fast food burger place."
"4 stars because we really loved the beer and will definitely be back for more. We will skip the food next time, though. I appreciate that they support local and don't have processed foods. However, due to that, I would have expected the food to be amazing especially for the price. It was not even mediocre to be honest. The burgers were dry and simply not noteworthy. The picture I've attached is an $18 burger (no sides). The bun wasn't even good-tasting. The mushrooms were cooked poorly and were very hard. The fries... They were nearly inedible they were so salty, and they just didn't have a good texture as if they weren't fresh. Very stingy on the cheese. Overall I'd say don't waste your money on the food but do grab yourself a beer! The staff was very nice so kudos to them!"
"Great burger place in downtown Durham, North Carolina. The burgers are amazing as is all their food. The fried pickles were great. Really cool vibe and great outdoor patio."
