"I’ve been wearing redwing boots for quite some time now. Logger boots in the winter and short ankle boots in the summer. They have notoriously always been my favorite. I usually get a good amount of time out of them since I switch boots in the winter and summer. After getting a few tuneups on my short ankle boots it was time I purchased a new pair for this summer. I paid the normal price I pay usually which isn’t very cheap but I normally do not have a problem with this because they last me a few years. Now this is where the problem begins. After wearing the boots for approximately two weeks I noticed that the heal on the boot was starting to wear and almost looked like it was crumbling off. I took the boots back to the store and was told there was “hot asphalt” on the boots which is why the heal was crumbling and that they would need to be resold at my expense. So 125 dollars on top of the 230 something dollars I spent to buy these boots, I unfortunately decided to get them repaired because I needed the boots. As I said, before, I have been wearing red wings for quite some time and I have never had this problem before….EVER Needless to say after this experience, I will no longer be wearing red wing boots. The only reason why I am even giving a two star reading is because the staff that was working the two days I dealt with this issue we’re polite."

"Great service took my boots their first cleanup service when I found out they do that . They changed my laces and even added a little American flag pins on my free laces.( which were then thrown away by the red wing store in Hackensack ) will be coming here from now on even though it’s way more out of the way for me but I appreciate good service. They made my boots look unrecognizable ( in a great way). My boots have been put through a lot over the years and as you can tell by the picture they still look amazing with their help"
