"I lived here for all four years of medical school, and it was a great place to live as a student. EVMS is right across the street, I walked to school or the hospital every day. The building is secure which is nice because I had friends in other complexes in Norfolk that had home and car break-ins, which was never a problem at Hague Park. My wife always felt safe when I was away on nights or for various rotations. Building is a mix of students and retirees. Pretty quiet during the day and on weekends which is great for studying or sleeping on post-call days. Management was quick to respond to most complaints. Downsides would be no website, so rent must be paid in person every month. Also, while the A/C and water are included in the rent, the building switches from one to the other every fall/spring so there may be a week where it is cold or hot during the switch. Overall, Ghent is a great place to walk around and a safe neighborhood. Hague Park is within walking distance of restaurants and bars in Chelsea, on Colley, and downtown."
