"Failed to return a hold deposit for an apartment that was not rented, and its been months that they have dragged their feet and don't answer emails. Edit: The owner replied only to tell me to email and call again even though they don't reply to my emails or VM Second edit: we have attempted to contact the office and the company that owns them dozens of times including the customer service line and customer service email. At this point I'm just going to go to the Better Business Bureau which is really sad over $150"
"I have requested to have my carpet changed since I have lived in this complex for 5 yrs and my request continues to fall on deaf ears. I requested the change before I signed my lease in Aug in which I spoke to the property manager and she advised me that I could set up an appointment for inspection and replacement once I signed my lease. I called and was informed that I was placed on the list for replacement and someone will contact me. No response. I went into the office to inquire about the change, I was advised the property manager would contact me. No response. Poor management and communication!"
"I lived in these apartments for a little over 3 years. When I first moved into my 2 bedroom, rent was under $800—which was a steal, especially with being 15 minutes from just about anything in Richmond. They were severely outdated; appliances and fixtures were from the 70s, my fridge and freezer always had a weird smell, and there was tons of water damage and a mildew/mold smell all over. For $800 this was fine. However, new management bought them out a year ago and wanted to make renovations. I'll be honest, I'm not confident in the structural integrity of the buildings. In addition to multiple water spots in my ceiling, a wooden piece of the doorframe was broken off, and the seal beneath my front door never worked. Any time it rained I had huge pools of water right at the door. There were always roaches coming in as well. My light switch for the living room was also on the far back wall so you had to walk all the way down to turn on the light, which is not up to electrical code. Additionally, new management failed to communicate certain changes made during the switching of hands. Old management would replace air filters and test fire alarms. When I put in a request for my fire alarm battery, it was denied with no communication. When I got my new lease it stated they wouldn't cover that, but I was never updated that this changed during my previous lease when it was still active. They also did not inform tenants the pool would be closed for renovations until the Friday before Memorial Day weekend, and the opening date was repeatedly pushed back. It eventually opened right before Labor Day. Being the only amenity the apartment offers, I feel we should have been reimbursed for loss of use for an entire season. Many times when I called or emailed with a question or concern, I was not able to get an answer. The crime rate in the area has increased significantly as well. After someone was murdered at the end of my street, they continued to increase prices up to $1500-3000. You can get an apartment of the same size with new appliances and quality structure, as well as a variety of amenities (not just an unusable pool) in much nicer areas for that price range. The day I moved out, there was also a maintenance worker very loudly swearing on a personal phone call for hours right outside to the point where it would have been disruptive had I been sitting inside. As it stands, under current management and current price points, I do not recommend living here."
"I don’t recommend being a single living woman in this complex…on top of harassment from my neighbors, I also have to watch my back for every single maintenance person that is hired here. They tamper with my car, they cat call me and follow me to my backyard, and they open my “private back fence gate” whenever the please. They have opened my car doors while I was sitting in it…they come in to change my air filters (which is all they know how to do) and will comment on the fact that I live alone….grown men…in my house…with the door closed….reminding me I live alone…..absolutely insane. Let’s not forget about roaches and water damage from their own neglect, that will probably result in them taking your security deposit away over Oh yeah and my whole entire car was stolen from other residents children in this complex after they tampered with cameras for a WEEK….for a week leasing AND maintenance employees knew the cameras were being tilted down to the ground and they choose to not reach out to police, or ME A LITERAL LIVING RESIDENT….that that was happening…..and instead in front of cops with a whole missing vehicle and their entrance cameras facing the ground I had to hear from a maintenance guy “oh wow this has been happening to our cameras all week”…….this whole complex is a joke….it’s a scam…it’s unsafe, it’s unaffordable, it’s belittling, and it’s absolutely shameful to my wallet to live here…this was my worst experience ever with a move."
"Not so good new management they refuse to return my calls we had a fire in the plug as it was happening the person took there sweet time responding in the interim another apartment caught fire. Bad aluminum wiring fire hazard. Not retrofit up to date to keep you safe. Kitchen one plug old kitchen $1500a month for old worn out apartment. Feel like the carpenter ants are eating the second floor not to mention they charge community base water fee so you pay for the office the cleaning of vacant apartments and watering the lawn. Paying for lazy people not fixing water leaks all over here Very poor upkeep this apartment is from the 80s or earlier and have not been updated. So the price not a fair charge the floor sounds like your actually going to fall to the living room the carpenter ants are eating their way thru. And the shut off valves to the sink not working. Since this post they had my truck towed and I just brought it up to Virginia. At 3am I. The morning. If you do t have a guest pass or a sticker And there office was closed couldn’t get one. Now on time towing stole my $50,000 truck with all my stuff in it. And improperly towed it. So it damaged the truck. Who’s paying for that. I want to know why. REALLY I AM A DISABLED VETERAN ON A FIXED INCOME NOW. SO HOW AM I GOING TO PAY AND WHY SHOULD I PAY GOR SOMEONE STEALING MY TRUCK. ITS BLATANT THEFT"
