Hampton Inn Richmond-Midlothian Turnpike

"I stayed at this place on the weekend of January 27th. I need had such a horrid hotel experience. One of the employees Darrel had the strongest odor of alcohol and for some reason I seen him staying in the hotel too. I asked another employee about him and they just shoot their head and said your not the first to complain about his issues. Not sure what that’s about but that should be enough to tell you about this hotel. I couldn’t even get extra sheets for my family because when I came down he was no where to be found. I later seen him walking back from wawa. Stay away from this hotel, even his co-workers apparently knows what he does and he’s supposed to be the manager lol. This place is a joke!"

"Stayed here for a week during the December holidays and overall enjoyed my stay. Will definitely return next time I travel to RVA. A few notes: Pros: Complimentary breakfast with more options than most hotels, clean lobby, renovated rooms, convenient location off of Midlothian Turnpike, updated fitness room, and coin washer/dryer (a little pricy at $5 for wash and dry, but convenient when you’re staying in a hotel for a week). I especially appreciated the assistance of Nelly (front desk) and Maria (kitchen staff) who were kind and helpful throughout the stay. Cons: Housekeeping could be a bit more consistent - some of the housekeepers were more thorough than others in their cleaning. For example, upon check-in I noticed some areas by the bed and toilet hadn’t been properly vacuumed/swept; took less than 5 mins to take care of myself, but room should have been glanced over before moving to clean the next one. TVs in the rooms have basic cable and aren’t compatible with streaming services, which is outdated in 2023. Building looks kinda old on the outside, and even though the interior is renovated, it does not look as “new” as other Hilton-operated hotels in the same price bracket. Overall enjoyed my stay, just providing an honest review for anyone planning to stay here in the near future."

"Our family and pet stayed over the holidays and could not have asked for a better experience. The rooms were clean, location was safe near a Starbucks/Target and the staff was wonderful. Compliments specifically to Darrell who helped us throughout our stay. He was attentive, kind, welcoming etc despite having to work on the holidays. We appreciate you Darrell. Would definitely recommend this hotel."

"The room was noticeably warn. The mattress was sunk in in the middle making it impossible for 2 people to sleep without rolling in to the middle of the bed. Sink was broken and drain didn't work. Mold in shower. I'm a Diamond member and asked for high floor away from the elevator. I was was given 1st floor by the elevator and I booked my room months ago. I could hear everything from my room making it impossible to work or rest. Will not be back to this location."

"Research Road hotel. The hospitality of the manager that evening was great! I had a problem at check-in due to a third-party booking. He was very patient and understanding. The room was nice and clean. The room is dimly lit, which I think is nice. The bathroom mirror has the led lights around it. The products ZERO% are used. Fresh clean linen, like new. The only negative thing I have is that the bed had a dip in the middle (king). I slept comfortably but kept ending up in the middle. A complimentary breakfast was served, turkey sausage, bagels, potatoes, cereal, yogurt, make your own waffles (I did!). There is an indoor pool, however it was closed when I arrived. You can see into the pool room while walking into the main entrance of hotel. The doors lock after a certain hour. Either you use your key card or push the bell to be let in. The area located was a safe place. My stay was great."
