"I've lived here for a month now and it's been really great! The apartment is beautiful and quiet (aside from a slighhhtly voracious AC). The staff is really kind. We've had to put in a bunch of repair requests as we're the first ones to live in this apartment and the maintenance crew has been so fast and friendly. The location of the building is perfect. The package pick up system is efficient. The common spaces are basically always empty, decorated nicely, and smell LOVELY. The gym is on the smaller side but has everything I need aside from a barbell rack (Smith machine instead). We can also use Illume's gym too, which is much bigger and fancier. I was hesitant when apartment hunting about some of the bad reviews here, but hoped that the nature of reviews mostly garnered the negative feedback rather than the positive. Thus far that theory is holding up, I love it here."
"Do you like being sent to collections? Do you prefer slow maintenance calls? Leasing/management agents that do not answer emails? Then 70 Capitol Yards is the place for you! Out of the 6 apartment buildings I've lived in among 4 different cities in the US, this place is by far the worst for multiple reasons. Most recently...I moved out in May 2023 and without any contact to us, my roommate and I were sent to a collections agency for less than $100 because of last month water usage. We were never called, emailed, or mailed regarding this, but were sent to collections and had to deal with that (with a hit to our credit as a result). This is uncalled for and a consistent issue from our research. BEWARE! On top of this, maintenance calls took up to 4-5 days to get fixed and it took WEEKS to get emails back from the leasing agents about basic question and concerns during our year there. PROS: The physical apartment is large and decent, but dated to the early 2000s. Would not recommend this building to anyone unless you truly want issues at some point. There are many other options in DC, worth it to pay $100-200 more a month if you can."
"You get what you pay for with this apartment. The price per square foot is reasonable for the Navy Yard however that’s where the pros end. The elevators have a habit of not working, often you’ll find dog poop in the halls. Gym equipment is half broken, the club room has broken darts and torn up pool table covers. The car garage door stops closing for weeks on end and cars get broken into without any remorse. The leasing agents and greystar are unresponsive to calls. The concierge is however very lovely. The kicker is they’ll send you to collections for an unpaid balance of $70 that they never alerted you to because they’re too disorganized. Literally moved out 6 months ago with a zero account balance and then I get a debt collection call out of the blue. Staff not once notified by call, text, email, mail. Buyer Beware."
"I lived here for 2 years (I moved out at the end of September) and I had to delete my previous review because I felt it did not reflect how I feel about this building now. When I initially moved in (June 2021) the first year I lived here it was amazing. The leasing office was on top of everything, the front desk staff was nice and on top of everything, and all the amenities WORKED. Once I resigned my lease, the building literally fell apart and the once incredible environment I loved to call home... was no longer that. The garage doors were broken for months and peoples cars were broken into or stolen, I was lucky enough to just get broken into with nothing stolen from my car. The front door broke and was taken off the hinges. The gym equipment was old and constantly broken. The pool this past summer opened late and was closed a few times due to faulty work and and not being up to code! The grills never had propane. My apartment windows on the outside were dirty and had only been cleaned once. The leasing office staff were cold, mean, and clueless. GreyStar and their employees let this building fall into ruin. Life has been easier and a lot less stressful since I have moved out, and until serious measures are taken to fix this building, I cannot in good conscience recommend this building to anyone who is looking for an apartment in the DC/Navy Yard area."
"First, I want to thank Jones for being readily accessible when I needed to move quickly. Though there were challenges with my work schedule, he ensured I had a seamless moving process. From walking into the leasing office to tour all the way up until receiving my keys, Jones provided remarkable customer service. He took the time to hear out my needs and help me find the perfect apartment within my budget. Jones has an eye for detail and a heart to care for the future resident. I am thoroughly pleased with the unit, and I look forward to spending my time here with Greystar Properties. If you are looking for an apartment, I truly recommend you work with Jones."
