Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Downtown 1100 Carnegie Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44115

"Park at your own risk. You should absolutely not be charged for parking while cars are getting broken into and stolen from this lot daily. Our window was smashed and broken into while we were there for one night along with 3 other cars in the lot. The hotel advised of no cameras and that it happens all the time. Carl was very helpful and the front desk manager was nice and helpful and offered a 50% refund. I ended up getting a full refund after complaining which I do appreciate. The police took 4 hours to arrive and were not phased at all by this happening. For anyone reading this that it does happen to, safelight down the street will do a free crash wrap for the window thankfully so we could drive the 3 hour drive home. Safety in the parking lot seems to be a huge concern. Wish I would have read the reviews prior. Also we had one towel in our room. There were no additional towels available when we had asked, also no body wash in the shower. When asked for body wash they advised were out and gave HAND soap instead. Oh also there was a NAKED man running around on the 10th floor and the staff thought it was funny. We were there for a cheer competition with a hotel full of little girls. They brought him a blanket to cover up."

"Within 3 hours of my car parked in the hotel parking lot the window was busted out in attempted theft. Along with 2 other vehicles. I had no personal items in the car that could have been stolen other than identity information. However, the other 2 people weren't so lucky and had multiple belongings, electronics, and credit cards taken. When the Cleveland police arrived, they informed us that a car had been stolen from the same lot 7 hours prior and this was a daily occurrence. The police also warned us not to be walking alone especially at night. This hotel does not have outside cameras or any type of security until 8 pm. The theft took place between 6:20 - 6:30 pm and happened while the owners of the 2 other cars were checking in and had the front desk distracted. The only person at this hotel that had any type of good customer service regarding this incident and was honest about how often this is happening was the night manager Jamie. He was awesome. The accounting manager denied the polices claims to them being called daily and also went to inform me that the hotel has signs posted stating they aren't responsible for damage, and this was no different than me getting into a wreck in their parking lot and they are not responsible for paying for any of the damages. She was rude and dishonest. I have also called the General Manager several times and never gotten a call back. I have contacted Hilton customer service who filed a claim against them for safety and security issues but still no response and it has been over a week. It's a decent hotel who offers a discount for the Cleveland Clinic which is why we went but the parking lot is not safe and created a traumatic experience especially for my daughter who was traveling with me to help me get to my appointments. I would recommend staying there other than the parking lot is just not safe and it's unfortunate. So again, thank you Jamie for providing excellent customer service but Hilton Garden Inn Cleveland Downtown...do better. Get cameras and security your customers should be worth it!"

"The room was nice and clean. Here is the complaint. Why would you have a thermostat that is lit up all night long, which can not be turned down or off that is FACING the bed. The thermostat is bright enough to light the room up. So peaceful nights rest, that did not happen, but it was a comfortable bed. Floor 10 rm 1001, eye mask is recommended for light sleepers that need an all dark room."

"Our family of 5 stayed recently while visiting Cleveland for two baseball games. The proximity to Progressive Field can’t be beat. I was slightly nervous after reading recent reviews but was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived after check-in time but the front desk staff were apologetic and offered us a couple of perks to make up for this. Our suite was spacious and comfortable for our family. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful, and were quick to respond when we needed extra towels and linens for the pull-out couch. The pool area was clean and while the hot tub was out of service, our kids enjoyed swimming. The rooms were dated and the air conditioner fan was quite loud but we found all the amenities to be clean and comfortable. This is not a luxury hotel by any means, but it was a great spot for our family to spend a couple of days watching baseball and exploring the city! Thanks for a lovely stay."
