Crowne Plaza Cleveland at Playhouse Square, an IHG Hotel

"I have been meaning to write this review for a couple months. We have stayed here many a times going to Indians games over the past couple of years. The front desk staff has been generally very friendly. We have stayed in different rooms from double beds, to single bed, to the king executive suite. The last few times we have stayed, the rooms have been uh....subpar. I'm not even sure the sheets were changed. The smell in the bathroom reeked of mold, like a dirty washcloth that has been laying out for awhile. I chose not to complain about it but the smell was overwhelming. I couldn't wait to check out. The remote was sticky. There was hair in the sheets and the tub was clogged. In addition the pool was closed so our kids couldn't swim. As much as I love the ambiance of the chandelier or being able to see Lake Eerie from this hotel, I won't be going back. Another thing to note which isn't related to the hotel just the location are the amount of homeless people that hangout near the chandelier. It takes away from the beauty of the location, although this is a city, that is to be expected."

"Great room. Best steak ever. Main problem, we left and I put my bathing suit in the bathroom at my house to dry right away. My bathroom stunk so bad. I didn’t know where it was coming from. I figured it out and I threw up in my bathroom from the smell. My boyfriend drove home with his bathing suite in the car. It stunk. He rolled down the windows. He had to keep from throwing up. It was like the pool and hot tub (where the kids were also going) wasn’t clean. There were a lot of kids there that weekend. I could say more about that, but the main point is how gross this was. I literally threw up. They need to put more chlorine in the pool or something. I’m not sure if those kids peed in the pool, but mine and my boyfriends bathing suite was disgusting."

"Oh my goodness this is just what me and the kids needed it was such a great time we stayed another night! We got a room with bunk beds and it was amazing! The room service was amazingly great! Alex the man who helped with getting us to our room was so funny and answered all our questions. Mark at the front desk was always there to help at the drop of a dime. 1201 was the room number but next time we are gonna get room 1401 because that one has a divider for more privacy from the kiddos and more fun for mom and dad! Hahahaha"

"We stayed here to be close to a family member who was staying there for work. (We were in town for a funeral). While a little pricey, the level of service was worth it. The valet parking, included with our reservation was a blessing, the hotel IS in the middle of the gorgeous theater district. Even during the rush of checkout our car arrived quickly. Our room was wonderful. There are very few things I would change. The bathroom is well designed, but I would appreciate a small nightlight as the toilet is separated from the main part of the bathroom. The shower floor was very slippery and could use more light as well. We got breakfast with our reservation. It was a great buffet, with something for everyone. Our server, Carmela, took care of us all three mornings we were there and treated like family. She knew we were there for a funeral and made us feel treasured. It is surprising how much comfort a show of kindness can create."

"Great place to stay!! The staff was phenomenal. Mr. Alex went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The views of Playhouse of Square are beautiful with all the lights. The hotel was a great location for us because it was close to Cleveland Clinic. Our kids lived the family suite equipped with bunk beds. The room was immaculate."
