Woodner Apartments 3636 16th Street Northwest, Washington, District of Columbia 20010

"After living in The Woodner for two years, I've had an okay experience being a resident there. While this is one of the few affordable places to live in DC, there are pros and cons to living here. While living at The Woodner, if I ever needed someone from maintenance to come handle an issue at my apartment, someone would come within the next hour or two which was helpful. I'd like to add Gavin is especially nice and helpful. Another nice thing about living at The Woodner is the closeness to Columbia Heights. It's about a 15 minute walk to Columbia Heights where it is easy to run errands and the Columbia Heights metro station is also in this area. Rock Creek Park is also located right behind the building which is a nice place to go in DC. There's also a bus stop conveniently located in front of the complex. However, there are some cons when living here at The Woodner. During my experience, at least one elevator was always broken. The elevators are slow and over my two years of living there, they were never all working at the same time. This also goes for the washing machines in the community laundry rooms. A machine or two was always broken. There's also no AC in the laundry rooms. I received multiple complaints from food delivery drivers that the front desk staff treated them poorly and was rude to them. In my experience, the front desk staff has not always been very nice and welcoming to residents or visitors. There were two incidents where I found rats in my apartment - one I got rid of myself, the other a maintenance person came and got rid of. The fire alarm system is also not great, it tends to go off for way longer than it should. This is a good place to live if you need something affordable and in the city. If you can afford something nicer, I suggest looking elsewhere."

"I’ve been living in the Woodner for a little while now. It’s a great building reasonably priced. Since Russell took over he made lots of great changes that benefited the residence of the building is cleaner the store stays open later than it used to…).He even went as far as sending me a GrubHub coupon because it was an emergency in my apartment and they needed to come in. Thank you Russell and thank you to the Woodner team"

"The Woodner Apartments are really nice. The leasing agent Katrina Bannister is very professional with a wonderful personality that makes you feel welcomed and comfortable. She was very courteous and knowledgeable about assisting me with all inquiries I had. They could not find a better leasing agent. Job well done in employing such a hospitable person."

"I have lived here at the Woodner since 2008 and Ms. Wilson has been amazing all the years. One time I needed extra space and she advised me with the Storage on Second Floor for my daughters College Stuff. She’s the reason that’s why I have stayed here.this long. "I have been living at the Woodner since early 2017. While there are some headaches associated with any building of this age, it has become home and feels like a community. The location is great and I can get anywhere without a car. I love being able to walk in the neighborhood. The management team has always been extremely helpful, especially Crystal and Gavin. I would not move even if offered something elsewhere. Some issues clearly have to be addressed but for me the overall community feel is more important. And the pool is wonderful in the summer. Highly recommended!"
