"I don't usually leave google reviews but it seems like they answer back here than to their emails. I would not advise anyone to live here. The trash chutes get overflowed almost every weekend and there is no communication ever in why this happens. No one answers the emails even though they encourage residents to reach out if there are any questions. I don't know what's going on with the complex and the county trash, but someone needs to get something together because I'm tired of coming out of my room and it smelling like garbage. Mine, along with a couple other rooms had gnat infestations the first time this happened. This is definitely a safety hazard and isn't healthy to live in. This place costs too much for us to not feel comfortable in our own spaces that we PAY for. I would advise any students to find another complex nearby that doesn't have these issues. I would but, unfortunately I'm on someone else's lease or I would definitely move out of here. The whole place is just ghetto."
"Had potential when I first moved in, but then fell victim to the system. Paying pent house prices for broken hallways, managerial services run by college students, over flowing garbage rooms, dog poop infested courtyards, unexperienced/cheap security, and so many more negatives in this horror house. ALL Towson students should avoid this complex at all costs. They take your money and run with it. There are plenty of better places to live for a Towson student then in Altus. Hope this place gets run into the ground over the next few years. I imagine its already headed in that direction, and thats why they opened it to other Baltimore students. Seriously REALLY bad place."
"My son moved in in January and the team was incredibly helpful with the transition! The same energy that the staff had when we first looked into Altus has been a daily experience for him and I am happy with his choice to live here. He already signed a renewal! There is an opening space in his unit in the Fall though so if anyone needs a roommate. Looking for someone clean and quiet but who likes to be social."
"Altus is not the place you want to end up living at. Sure, the apartments are decent, but if you as a resident has any sort of issue, good luck getting helpful service because this place provides anything but that. Not only do they show a lack of care and respect for their residents, but they will charge you for everything. Normal wear and tear of paint during move out? You’ll get charged. Locked out of your apartment? You’ll get charged. Never have I ever seen a place so poorly managed and maintained where all they care about is getting you to sign a lease. I cannot stress this enough, do yourself a favor and don’t sign a lease here."
"I used to think this was the perfect location however time has shown Altus apartments has declined since it’s opening. It is clear that there is a lack of investment in residents utilities and most importantly our safety. Someone got shot in front of the building and there have been no safety measures implemented. Security is basically non existent and the front desk workers are more comfortable getting an easy paycheck than actually helping the people who live here. It is a struggle every time I have to pick up a package and the front desk is entirely committed to do the least amount of work possible, which makes it incredibly difficult to tolerate this living environment. On top of that maintenance doesn’t seem to keep track of its duties. I was supposed to get a desk at the beginning of the year for my room and more than halfway through the year… still no desk. Honestly I would not live here again without a hefty discount in rent. The price is ridiculous and does not match the standards it once lived up to. On top of that maintenance randomly shows up at your door for an inspection multiple times a year without notice and even letting themselves in without asking for consent first. Honestly I get better service at McDonald’s than from this apartment complex."
