"The hotel was great. Its really close to Union Station and Trader Joe's. The room has a coffee machine and apple TV. Also, there is enough kitchen utensils for making your own food. They always keep the room clean which is also good."
"Great experience. I felt like I was living in DC, in a beautiful apartment building. Very convenient to shopping at Trader Joe’s. The room was bright and nicely decorated. Very clean. The app they provided was convenient for unlocking the room door, getting onto the elevator and entering the building. I’ll definitely be back."
"The room was nice and clean. However, we had a two bedroom and there was only one tv. In addition, the TV didn't have any preset channels. You are forced to mirror your phone to TV for service. I didn't like it. Also, they offered coffee to the residents of the building but not the hotel guests. That was surprising to me."
"I really like staying here. The hotel is three floors of a very nice, new, apartment building. The room was a one bedroom apartment, which felt so much nicer than staying in a tiny room with just a TV. The room also had a washer/dryer in-unit, which I found to be the best perk of all. They even provide you with enough laundry pods and dryer sheets for two loads which was exactly what I needed. I can see how, if you're easily frustrated by tech, the app you have to use could be frustrating. I would suggest checking in with the team that's on-site 24/7 when you arrive so they can give you a quick in person tutorial. Once everything was explained, it seemed super obvious and I realized how intuitive it actually is. The team was the nicest! Everyone there was so helpful. I'm sure they have to explain the app a million times a day, but they still explained everything like it was the first time and had so much patience."
"I would not recommend this hotel to anyone!!!!!! I have several of the same observations shared by other low reviews. The link to check in didn't work so we had to do the manual check in which was probably easier. I think they just needed to see my ID. The WhyHotel staff was mostly rude the entire time. I don’t remember even one smile from the staff. There was only one staff member who was somewhat nice to us out of several that they have there. The majority of time when you go to the staff for help, they either give you a clueless look or an attitude as if you are bothering them and they could care less about helping you. They did that several times for packages that we were expecting from Amazon and paid extra to receive the same day. It would take several days before I would receive the packages. The staff would usually shrug and say they hadn't seen the package yet and that it might be downstairs at the Press House reception. They would make no attempt to find out for you if it was at the Press House reception and sometimes they would not even check the packages that you could visibly see on the shelf in the WhyHotel office. I finally had to check with the Press House staff myself to track down my last package. The Press House staff was very nice, in comparison to the WhyHotel staff, and handed the package over after showing my ID. The staff in the office seemed more concerned with listening to their music and chatting than actually helping their clients. Worst of all- they suddenly kicked my family of four out of the hotel including two toddlers aged 1 and 3 after a miscommunication about our checkout date. We had been approved for an additional night and were planning to fly the next day and had not finished packing when suddenly they wanted us out of the room. We had to throw a lot of stuff together haphazardly to meet their demands. Not only were they rude and lied to my spouse about having spoken to me the night before, the manager was acting off of information from an email sent early that morning. The sender of that email had since been updated that we would stay an additional night. The manager kept insisting that we leave and that they needed to get the room cleaned for other guests. She refused to look into what I was saying and claimed they had no availability for us to stay longer. Being suddenly thrown out of a hotel especially with two little ones (one of which was crying loudly) was a traumatizing experience that I wish on NO ONE. Additionally, the internet isn't the best and one of our toilets was broken early on during the stay and it took several days to get maintenance over. One of the bathroom sinks also had issues (it would not drain) and some of the table chairs were broken and wobbly. The bathroom sink was never fixed so I had to make due by opening the drain cap which allowed the sink to drain. We put the two chairs in the closet and didn't use them but could have used them for our family size. The dryer was very loud. The only TV in the whole apartment (located in the living room) does not have cable but has a variety of free apps including YouTube, Pluto, Amazon Prime, etc. Several circuits in various areas were non-functional. The beds were not comfortable and the furniture was scarce for such a large space. On positives, the room was a nice size for a family of four. It had two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, microwave, and a washer and dryer."
