"Experience of Racial Discrimination at Tyson Corner Marriott As a frequent traveler and patron of various hotel chains around the world, I hold establishments to a high standard of respect, professionalism, and courtesy towards guests of all backgrounds. It is with deep disappointment and concern that I must report an incident of racial discrimination I experienced at the Tyson Corner Marriott, involving an employee named Marcos Canals. On 1/27/24, during my stay at the hotel, I encountered a situation where [describe the specific incident of racial discrimination in detail]. The behavior displayed by Mr. Canals was not only unprofessional but also deeply offensive and discriminatory. The incident occurred in hotel lobby front desk and despite my attempts to address the issue at the moment, I was met with I expect that Marriott, a renowned hospitality brand, would have no tolerance for discrimination of any kind and would train its employees to adhere to the highest standards of equality and respect for all guests. Unfortunately, my experience suggests a serious need for further training and awareness among the staff at this particular location. I am bringing this matter to your attention not only to seek redress but also to encourage Tyson Corner Marriott to take immediate action in investigating this incident and implementing measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. No guest should have to endure what I went through, and it is the responsibility of the Marriott to ensure a welcoming environment for all. I hope that by sharing my experience, I can prompt a swift and appropriate response from Marriott International. "The front desk was exceptionally kind, respectful, and accommodating. This flagship property will recognize your Marriott Bonvoy status and accommodate room upgrades, as they kindly did for me. Location is an easy walk to Tyson’s mall and the m club lounge has a great selection of snacks and drinks."

"Terrible experience. The check in was lengthy and felt like they were surprised by my presence despite my reservation where all the details were chosen ahead of time (type of room, floor, away from elevator …etc). No one there to help with the luggage! This took me by surprise. It’s a Marriott for God’s sake! Plus I had two large suitcases that I had to drag through carpeted floor. The room size was ok but had this weird smell. I found this empty used noodle cups! Photos attached Checkout was as bad. I would never recommend it, despite its great location because the overall experience was annoying"

"Hotel was nice, rooms were extremely comfortable with great amenities. Large and nice bathrooms, with great product line. I love the large bottles and the elimination of single use plastics. I wish they would swap to large liquid hand wash and lotion dispensers as well, like other hotels have. All in all great. Only downside is being on the 2nd floor. There is convention space and a gym, my room had chairs set up right outside, so people sat and talked on the phone until 130am making it impossible to sleep. Location is great with lots of dining and shopping opportunities."

"This location is near everything. Marcus at the front desk was extremely professional. The bar staff were very friendly and helpful. I purchased a couple of furs from this location during a fur coat exhibit and decided next time to stay at this hotel. Parking in the garage is a plus because the elevators go straight to the room floor. I just wish there was a pool....however I definitely recommend this hotel...breakfast was ok...no omelet stations or waffles...basic...lunch at the bar was cool...bourbon wings...no complaints...I forgot the female at the front desks name from South Africa with a beautiful accent...please acknowledge her for being professional and friendly too..."
