Reviews of Park Crest Apartments
"Updating my previous review, it has now been more than 8 months since the garage gate has been broken. They tell us the part they need to repair it is backordered from the vendor, we have not received ANY updates or estimated timelines, we want TRANSPARENCY PLEASE. They also say there's a security guard late at night, as far as I can tell they are lying about that. Perhaps it's time to ask Pat Blackburn to step in personally. EDIT: They apologize for the slight INCONVENIENCE of the garage being broken? For 8 months? FIX THE PROBLEM."
"Gates Hudson is an awful company (an update): About three and a half months after I moved out, Gates billed me for damages they claim I made to my apartment. Confused, I replied with an email asking for more information and after multiple calls and at least 6 emails requesting more information on what they were charging me for, Gates refused to assist at every turn. They claimed that they couldn't give me the information unless I emailed them, even going so far as to tell me that they have a company rule that prohibits them from requesting the information on my behalf even when I was on the phone with them. They claimed that they failed to receive all of the emails I sent to them, and they eventually decided to try to go around me and get the money from my family instead, and they even took the time to remind me that not paying would hurt my credit score in an attempt to scare me into paying without getting more information on what was happening. No matter how many emails I sent, they claimed they did not receive them, and no matter how many times I called they played dumb and said their hands were tied and could not help me. To potential renters, save yourself the trouble and find a less greedy and insidious company to rent from. To Gates Hudson, I have paid your bill against my better judgement and I look forward to hearing whatever defense you come up with to excuse your abhorrent behavior this time."
"Firstly I want to point out that any review done before 2023 should be ignored cause this building has changed management since those were posted and man has this new management made this place far, far worse than it used to be. When Avalon ran this building it was a great place to live, but now that Gates Hudson has taken over it has become a nightmare. Overall this place used to be a wonderful place to live, but new management doesn't know what they are doing. When I was trying to move out, I had the front office give me incorrect information about how long of a notice I was required to give, which almost cost me thousands of dollars. They have also decided to change the gate sensor for the parking garage even though it was working perfectly fine, only to make it so that the gate could sit open 24/7 for at least 5 months (it is still broken at the time I am writing this review and I doubt they'll get around to it anytime soon). When I was checking out, I informed the front office that I would need to reserve the loading dock to move my stuff out, only for them to write it down on the computer, but not actually reserve it making moving out incredibly difficult. The front staff are rarely around to talk to, there have been multiple thefts in the garage (making the fact that we do not have a working gate even worse) and the front staff are incredibly nice until you bring up a problem you have been having and then you get nothing but blame for not handling the issue yourself or for the issue existing in the first place Gates Hudson has raised the rent on everyone in the building, and instead of using that money to fix the gate, or train their staff on their policies, they have instead pocketed that extra income and left us renters to have to deal with their inability to properly manage the building. Do not rent here if it is still owned by this company."
"I am truly impressed with the job that Park Crest staff are doing. From the moment I moved in it has been an absolute pleasure to be part of this community. The maintenance staff has been great whenever I have had issues in my apartment and respond in a quick and efficient manner. I also want to mention that even though the parking garage has been down since I moved in, there has been a security officer that has been stationed in the garage to ensure safety. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with my decision to make this apartment complex my home."
"DO NOT MOVE HERE!! Have had the absolute worst experience here. We moved out after just a 10 month lease. PROS: It’s in a decent location in Tyson’s. Close to everything. A great gym. One of the biggest I’ve ever seen in an apartment community. CONS: First and foremost, someone stole/tried to steal my motorcycle and they deleted all the camera footage from every camera in the complex the night my bike was moved. I had a tracker on my bike so I knew the exact hours it was moved and suspiciously every camera had a gap in footage at that time. They are currently still under investigation for that felony. (Make sure you have a good insurance policy) Secondly, we told every leasing agent, to include the apartment manager, that we were moving out months in advance. Then they gave us a lease renewal letter so I went in person with the letter to make sure they knew we were moving out. We even communicated that we would need the freight elevator to move out a month ahead of time. Never did they state that we needed to specifically email them our move out date. They just smiled and said ok we’ll put that in our system. Then the day after we moved they said oh we were never aware of you planning to move I’m sorry you’re going to have to pay for 60 days now. This is how they deal with every day problems around the complex as well. They just smile but don’t actually take care of any issues. We had several minor maintenance issues that they neglected to repair such as our water heater leaking for a week straight that they refused to repair/replace until the water heater literally stopped working. Additionally, everyone who lived on the north east side of the building experienced water damage every time it rained heavy or dropped in temperature significantly as the walls and windows are so paper thin. We verified this with several other tenants on our side of the building. We even told them about the mold growing in our place due to this problem and they never fixed the issue. I couldn’t upload a video I have showing water just pouring in even with the windows closed. Finally, there is only ONE way in and out of their garage. I can’t tell you how many times the electronic gate was broken. One time for 32 hours straight the gate was broken shut and no one could get their vehicle in or out of the complex. You think anyone ever received any compensation for that? Lol Also, at the time my bike was stolen the gate was fully operational furthermore indicating it was an inside job."
