Reviews of Rise at the Boro
"I just moved to Virginia for temporary work and I was looking for a short term lease somewhere close from. I came to the Rise at the Boro to find the place I was looking for. I met with a leasing agent Michael during my visit. He gave me a comprehensive and detailed tour of the building and the apartment I was looking to rent. Although I ended up not moving in for different reasons, I was delighted by the commitment and level of customer service displayed by the gentleman."
"Other reviewers said pretty much everything. Loud noise around 1 or 2 am. The maintenance team is not qualified to do a decent wall job let alone maintain anything else. The leasing team, management, and maintenance are a total dysfunctional. The gate is always broken. Not recommended."
"I recently had the pleasure of visiting the leasing office at the Rise where Michael, the leasing consultant, assisted me. I must say, Michael's professionalism and knowledge left a lasting impression on me. From the moment I walked in, Michael greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel welcome. He patiently listened to my needs and took the time to understand what I was looking for. His expertise in the leasing process was evident as he answered all my questions confidently and provided valuable insights. What sets Michael apart is his exceptional customer service. He was attentive, responsive, and went above and beyond to ensure my leasing experience was seamless. He promptly followed up on my inquiries and kept me informed throughout the process. Additionally, Michael's attention to detail and thoroughness were impressive. He thoroughly explained the lease terms, making sure I understood everything before signing any documents. It was evident that he genuinely cared about finding the right fit for me and ensured that all my concerns were addressed. Overall, my experience with Michael at the leasing office was outstanding. I highly recommend him to anyone in search of a dedicated and knowledgeable leasing consultant. His professionalism, customer service, and genuine willingness to help make him a true asset to the team."
"Update 2/24/2023 : After the water leakage problem, my unit experienced a new noise problem with the pipes connecting the water going into the washer system. Every time my neighbors run their washer/dryer, I can hear it. The vibration sound would last anywhere between a minute to 10 minutes, go off several times in an hour, and can happen as early as 7am. The maintenance team took a month and still cannot pinpoint the problem, and I have to be the one reaching out to them constantly to get technician to come over and receive updates. While my quality of living and sleep were affected, I’m still paying premium rent for my clearly not-so-premium living situation. When I asked for partial reduction in rent to the property management team, all I got was the management team does not compensate for maintenance issues. In my 4+ years of living in luxury rental apartments, not once have I experienced leakage and water pipeline issues until now. My friend in the building also experienced leakage problem when she first moved in March 2022. All these make me question the quality of construction at Rise, and the way the Placemakr team manages things have been more than disappointing. Think twice before you move here. Original review Jan 2023: There was a flood triggered by the fire alarm going off in the 27th floor amenity space on Dec 28, 2022 and the flood leaked all the way down to 19th floor. I'm on the 22nd floor and my unit was impacted and was left in this condition for 3 weeks (see pictures), and I developed a rash/allergic condition due to the particles from the mildew and the dust/particles from the repair work. Yet the building management did not cover any of my loss and refuse to adjust rent when my living condition has clearly suffered."
