"This hotel is in a great location close to the capital and other nearby attractions. We have been to this hotel on the New Year’s holiday for the last two years. Megan Kantor always makes sure we have a great experience at this hotel. She’s extremely accommodating and a true asset to the hotel. We continually want to come back due to her excellent customer service!"
"I cannot speak highly enough about the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill. I have never written a review, about anything, and I felt absolutely compelled to write one in this case. I arrived January 16, 2024, in terrible weather, with no luggage for two days. Everyone on the staff was more than helpful. The cleaning ladies engaged me and asked me how I was doing. They made sure my daughter was not disturbed during the day. The waiters were amazing and took all kinds of special orders. The front desk people worked with me on getting my receipt early and helping me get my only set of clothing washed at no cost. The managers helped with both the clothes washing, receipts and late checkout at no cost when my daughter became ill. The bells hops and concierge helped as well. I have never been in a situation where I had no clean clothes or toiletries and had business meetings to deal with. It was very stressful. The staff at this hotel made me as comfortable as possible, and they could not have been more accommodating. If you're going to Washington DC, this is the place to stay."
"Very close to the U.S. Capitol and Supreme Court and a short walk to two Metro red line stations. I expected there to be more around the hotel (restaurants, bars, etc). Be prepared to walk or use transportation if you’re there to visit anything other than the Capitol. Hotel was clean (robot vacuum cleaned my floor each night). Room was average size. Would have liked additional blanket in room considering I visited during winter. Store in hotel lobby is overpriced but that’s expected. Drinks at the bar are also overpriced but service was good. Overall the stay was good, but destination fee/sales tax was disappointing to learn about as I checked out. It honestly would sway me from staying there again. It came off as shady."
"This hotel stands out for its exceptional cleanliness, invitingly warm pool, and conveniently located fitness center. The transition from an intense workout to a refreshing dip in the pool is seamless. However, there are a few drawbacks. For instance, the toilet paper holder in the bathroom is awkwardly positioned for those with shorter arms. Additionally, the shower temperature can be inconsistent, requiring frequent adjustments. While the rooms are impeccably clean and the beds extremely comfortable, the space feels somewhat cramped. In contrast to other hotels, this one features a combined area for the toilet, shower, and sink. This design can be inconvenient, as it limits access to the sink when the shower is in use, potentially causing delays in morning routines. On a positive note, the hotel staff are remarkably friendly and accommodating."
"Location of this hotel is great for those that are looking to do some site seeing. Easy walking distance to all the major attractions. Only downside is the amount of homeless people in the area. Just gives the area an unpleasant feel due to the amount of trash and people constantly begging for money. Staff however try their best to keep the area safe for guests. Tight security inside the facility and the valet service was very professional and quick. Food at the hotel was good and reasonably priced. Drinks were expensive. Rooms were clean but do show signs of aging. Housekeeping cleaned regularly and were professional. Front desk staff were also very helpful with any questions I had. Overall, my stay was pleasant and I look forward to my next stay here."
