"I’m in between a 3 and a 4 because it’s a cool spot - so if it weren’t a hotel, a 4: amazing spot to meet up with people, good hangout spot, good work spots, fun game room in the basement, free books through an app, restaurant/bar (that participates in in restaurant week!)…so many cool things! However, as a hotel, not so great. The entrance as you walk in is stairs…if you’re staying in a hotel, you almost always have a suitcase - just poor design. And the rooms are super outdated from the carpet to the popcorn ceilings, but my biggest complaint is the bed - the standard room is a full bed - not a queen or a kind, a full. And it was one of the most uncomfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. You can feel the springs and there’s a dip in the middle - just really old. The rooms need an update and to be more thoroughly cleaned (ours definitely wasn’t pristine). I wouldn’t stay the night there ever again, but I would totally hang out there or work there. The location is amazing and the price was fine for what it is (it is slightly cheaper than what’s in the area, but definitely expect a 3 star room). The rooftop was closed (with no sign or explanation on a Saturday night) and the stairs up to it had debris and was unsafe…need to put a sign up at least. But there’s also the game room and cool art gallery, so there’s other places to explore (we were just looking forward to the rooftop). Oh and they give you friendship bracelets at checkin…kinda cute."
"First time to DC, and love this hotel and location. Easy access walking to DC train system, as well as close proximity to walk to a variety of food restaurants, stores. The staff here at the hotel are all amazing and very helpful from the moment I arrived and stepped out of the cab. This hotel seems to have its own special touch with an art display area. Definitely recommend a stay here!!"
"Mixed impressions. Pros: - very attentive staff. Five stars. Good location. Efficient elevators, though required room key to ride (for safety?). Nice lobby area. Very good breakfast: - hot, perfectly prepared, good quality ingredients. It was a bit pricey though. Cons: - the room AC unit was very noisy. The room carpet looked worn. The bathroom shower might be good from water efficiency perspective. But water flow felt inadequate. Bed pillows were of sub par quality:-Relatively small and lumpy."
"Rooms highly in need of some renovations. The old decor is very classy, but peeling paint, mold and falling caulking are easy maintenance items that should regularly be addressed. Location is great, lots of great restaurants walking distance to hotel and the hotel food is good. Start is friendly and will try to accommodate. Remember, Washington is easy to access, either by bike, scooter or metro!"
"Really nice place to stay! I visited for a night and would love to return. Very quiet area and lots of restaurants nearby. It's practically on top of the metro so very convenient access. Rooftop pool and bar looked nice, but didn't have time to hang out there."
