"I'm so glad that we chose Lewis & Weldon for our kitchen remodel. They were easy to work with, execution was/is flawless and the team is outstanding. I would recommend them 10x over to anyone who asks."
"We initially met with the Lewis & Weldon folks in July 2022, and were really impressed with their portfolio and expertise. We hired them immediately and repeatedly asked for low-VOC and low toxicity materials/paints. The cabinets were eventually installed in January 2023. Multiple delays with a variety of somewhat odd excuses but they came through in the end. The cabinets looked beautiful and the design was excellent. The only big issue was that they had a fairly strong odor. It declined over time a bit, but never went away. My wife was pregnant with our 3rd child at the time, so we were a little nervous as to what was causing the odor. We started testing the air and based on our in-home tests, we came to believe that formaldehyde was the major chemical causing the smell. (Typically it's odorless but takes on a smell at higher concentrations, from what we understand.) We confirmed the formalydehyde levels with a 3rd party lab, who tested twice on site and sent us full reports. The airborne particle levels (measured in ppm) of 1 of the 3 random samples they collected were approx. 5-10x the legal standards/limits on the first round of testing, depending on which government rule/guideline you compare against. The formalydehyde levels for the 2nd round (after one month of open kitchen windows 24/7 & the drawers/doors "off-gassing" in the garage) improved to below the legal standards/limits. However once the drawers/doors were left in place and windows closed for any length of time, the smell returned. We looked at multiple options to rectify, including sanding down and refinishing, sealing over, replacing drawers and cabinet fronts. We also considered waiting it out longer, but after 4-5 months, although levels had lowered over time, we believed that some amount of formaldehyde was still in the air (based on similar smell and home testing), and at this point we had a newborn and two other kids under five. Ultimately a few weeks ago we made the sad decision to just rip the cabinets out and dispose of them. Since they've been gone the air quality has been excellent, and all of our testing devices (Dyson etc) have showed zero formaldehyde and significantly lower overall VOC's. We are now rebuilding a new kitchen with a local provider and will be paying a lot more attention to the materials & finishes used this time. The Lewis & Weldon team has not offered to reimburse or refund any of the $100k+ we spent with them."
"Best decision we made. We shopped around for a few kitchen design company's on the upper and mid-cape and settled with Lewis & Weldon. We decided to go with them because they make the cabinets themselves, have an amazing reputation and you skip the middleman. The pricing was within budget and working with Chuck and the team was very easy. We did a full kitchen renovation, took down walls, new floors, etc.. Lewis and Weldon worked hand in hand with our builders to make sure everyone was on the same page and the project went flawless. Couldn't be happier, they gave us our dream kitchen."
"I want to say thank you, thank you to Lewis & Weldon. Walking into my kitchen each morning puts a smile on my face. The quality and craftsmanship of my new cabinets are top notch! I am constantly getting compliments on how beautiful they are. Don and Erin were fantastic to work with. Their expertise, advise and know-how was invaluable. I would highly recommend them to friends and family for future renovations!"
"For a recent whole-house remodel project on Martha's Vineyard, we selected Lewis & Weldon after an extensive search for a company that would be creative and experienced. Chuck Hart and the entire team from Lewis & Weldon, far exceeded our expectations. Our project was completed on-time and within our discussed budget. Chuck was also instrumental in helping us with our counter top selections as well as referrals to buy our appliances. We've been complemented on the craftsmanship as well as our unique color selection for our Island. We love it! I would highly recommend Lewis & Weldon for any upcoming custom Kitchen, Bath or Cabinetry project. Al & Barbara Butters"
