"Pros: very reasonable pet fee, good location, nice hotel bar and kind waitstaff. Rate of hotel per night excellent … but … Cons: overly minimalist rooms with barely the basics, small king size room, really wonky elevator with dysfunctional key card system. Despite having an issue with parking that was addressed by manager, I would be remiss if I didn’t leave an honest review. The young lady at the front desk was so passive aggressive and hostile both during check out and at our stay. It tainted the whole experience. Since it was rainy, we had to spend more time in hotel than planned. In sum, I wish we had splurged more for the Marriott right next store where I’m fairly confident the customer service would have been better."
"Happy with my stay at the Cambria Old Port and would stay again. Both the front desk staff and the valet were helpful. The room was large with a comfortable bed. Price in the offseason was reasonable. It's within walking distance of everything I wanted to see downtown. Overwall, a good experience and I will look to book here again."
"The rooms and bedding were great, very comfortable and clean. My check in assistance was aggravating and front desk staff unhelpful. I needed early check in because of wedding at 4pm. I was traveling from out of state. Check in at hotel is 4 pm. Despite blocks of rooms being reserved for this wedding they could NOT confirm early check in until the am of wedding! I made 4-5 phone calls asking for assistance and basically they told me I could email sales to discuss wedding arrangements! Isn’t that the front desks job? Alas, I got in early and had time to prepare for wedding. The attitude at the front desk was hipster cool. No concern for my needs, poor customer service. Not unusual these days. Also, parking garage is 40 dollars a night! No street parking available. All valet, you can’t go in garage to get your own vehicle."
"Pros: Nice location, a few blocks from the water and some good cafes and restaurants; dog friendly; quiet room; strong free wi-if; one of the most comfortable hotel beds I’ve ever stayed in, with perfect pillows that weren’t a foot thick like many hotel pillows. Cons: Parking is $40/ day (but the valet guys were all super nice and helpful, and always there so it only takes a minute to get your car). The king room was also pretty tight, no bath tub (but had a nice rain shower head); and only had a closet for clothing and another closet with a tiny mini fridge, coffee maker and some drawers. It was fine for my purposes, since I was there solo on work for 2 nights and was barely in the room, but for longer stays or for couples it might be a little annoying. That said, they have larger rooms."
"Wonderful hotel. We checked in 2 hours early, and 10 minutes before my wife needed to get on an important conference call. James checked us in, gave us the wifi info, and we were on our way in minutes (wife set up and made the call on time). The room was beautiful and clean. The location is walking distance to all restaurants and shops of the Portland waterfront. Only regret is we didn't stay longer."
