Portland Harbor Hotel

"The front desk people were charming and very informative! The location can’t be beat… but, we got back to the room pretty late at night and saw (see the picture) PLEASE DO BETTER! I was so appalled that we slept at one of our friend’s houses and checked out the very next day. You should not encounter something like this at a hotel of this caliber. I wrote XXS Hotels who acquired the property in 2021 to no avail so here I am. It may as well be a rent by the hour hotel. Everything was loose in the room including the toilet mechanicals. The floor, upon further inspection, had hair all over it. It was disgusting… and for $350 a night in off season where we could have stayed at much cleaner accommodations for $150… DO BETTER!"

"Hotel was beautiful and immaculate. Had every feature and amenity you could desire. Also, the best location in Portland probably. Alexander at the front desk is the cream of the crop when it comes to employees in the service industry. He himself made the stay go from a 7/10 to a 10/10, and I am really looking forward to a return. Whatever he is paid, I believe it's not enough."

"The Perfect Post-Holiday Getaway! My husband and I stayed at the Portland Harbor Hotel for a quick post-Christmas escape this past Wednesday night, 12/27. I can confirm what other reviewers have reported; great location in the center of everything in Old Port, gorgeous bar/lounge area, nicely appointed rooms, mini refreshment stations on each floor right as you exit the elevator, etc. But what put the Portland Harbor Hotel over the top is the staff! We had the pleasure of interacting with General Manager Karl Whipple and then Will who checked us in, and there was the sweet woman who brought us room service and our charming waitress in the lounge at breakfast in the morning – each person nicer than the last. They truly created a welcoming environment that you don’t always see in other hotels. We look forward to coming back in the Spring/Summer! Thank you PHH team!"

"On a coin flip we decided to drive to Portland and stay in this wonderful hotel. From the second we arrived to the second we left it was a wonderful and pleasant experience. Everything was extremely clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. They offered free snack and drink amenities on every floor which I thought was a nice surprise. Waters and chocolates in the rooms. We ate there for dinner and the food was equally good. I got the steak with truffle fries. The best truffle fries I’ve ever had in my life, and even though we showed up 5 mins before they closed they were happy to accommodate us. The location is perfect. You can walk to everything and no matter where you are in town, you’re not too far from the hotel if you need to go back to use the restroom or place shopping bags in your car. All in all I don’t think I would ever stay anywhere else if I was traveling back to Portland. 10/10 recommend!!"

"Beautiful, clean hotel with wonderful staff! They have a very nice outdoor seating area which is absolutely beautiful. The room was clean and the hotel staff members are truly caring. The only thing I would say is that it would have been nice to have a designated smoking area in the outdoor seating area. Other than that everything was wonderful."
