"We initially chose this hotel for its appearance, expecting a pleasant stay with our infant. However, we were unexpectedly forced to cancel our booking and seek accommodation elsewhere due to the hotel's restrictive room policy. Despite their high price point of $500 per night, the hotel rigidly adheres to a two-person per room policy, including infants. This meant that for our family of three, we were expected to book an additional room just for our baby, a requirement that is unusual, unreasonable and not family-friendly. This policy felt excessively rigid and out of step with the needs of families traveling with young children. AWOL management should explicitly say they are an adults-only hotel instead of passive aggressively forcing unreasonable pricing on families. At best it's an anti-social and out of touch. At worst it's a trick by management to financially take advantage of young families by charging 2x when an infant is present. I would advise families, especially those with young children, to not waste their time."

"We stayed here during Prelude weekend. Room was very clean with a comfy bed + pillows. This location was perfect because we were able to walk to Dock Square and Kennebunk for all of the festivities. Will definitely stay here again for our next visit!"

"We spent one night in room 17 in the main building which had a separate seating room. It was spotless, fresh, bright, the fireplace was great in the chill. Staff were all friendly and welcoming, overall atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, modern but approachable. Breakfast in the morning was a great spread of options. The only con was that our mattress was very broken-in on one side and the bed frame creaked with even small movements. For guests with limited mobility, the main building could be difficult with shallow steps and very low seating. Otherwise I recommend it and would love to come back to check out the cabins!"

"Cute area within walking distance of downtown Kennebunkport area. Cabins have a clean modern feel with cozy elements throughout. Got to enjoy their indoor and outdoor fireplace and had a delicious complementary breakfast in the morning. Had a wonderful time exploring the area and would love to come back and stay in another cabin at AWOL."

"We absolutely loved this place. Warm, homey vibe. Brandy was a very friendly and helpful host. We stayed in a cabin which was quiet, private, clean, modern and just lovely. Our highlights: awesome out-of-this-world breakfast on lovely patio with heat lamps and beautiful music, walk ability to town and free bikes in the shed. Thank you Brandy and staff!!!"
