"I wish I could give zero. No one EVER returns your calls. I have to fight to be heard, or to get anything done and I regularly have to read the lease back to the office workers to make sure my rights aren’t violated. i have to threaten to talk to the corporate office to be heard. Management is rude and condescending, treating me like I haven’t rented before because I am young, which I have. I don’t feel safe in my apartment as things are moved every time maintenance comes in. They also charge me late fees when they cash my check late. I’ve never turned in my rent late, yet I have a few late fees on my account and am expected to pay this. This place is too expensive for what it’s worth, and it is more of a hassle. I won’t be recommending this place to anyone, it’s a scam. Steer clear."
"I'm writing a one star review to not only help sway people from possibly leasing an apartment in there but also anybody that is thinking about purchasing a condo home or putting a business into one of the new vanilla boxes.. I looked on their site at the planned complex at the vineyards. Wow.. Scary stuff. It's really scary to see what money can do. The developers that planned and built this bohemoth must have failed logistics and urban planning 101. One road in one road out. Bumper to bumper traffic in each direction for miles. What caused me to finally write this is that this development has absolutely destroyed my drive to work every single morning and evening.. Route 9 has become a disaster because of this development. After reading the reviews to see if anybody felt this way, I was pleased to see reactions similar to mine.. I can only hope and pray that people that obtained lease without understanding of the area were able to get out and get their deposits back so they can move on with their life. I can't believe the size of the complex they have planned here. Theres only one way in and one way out. Including all the stores and everything else they plan to put in there. I drove into redner's one day and I said to myself I cannot believe this is how you have to get in and out of this brand new grocery store. 5 mph stuck behind people, going over speed bumps left and right only to enter into this tiny little parking lot that has curbs jutting out at every turn.. Haha. Wow.. Just wait till they finish the roundabout up the road that has no traffic break and it's just constant flowing traffic.. one road and a traffic light.. route 9 is now a 15 mile line of traffic every single morning and rush hour now. It's Insanity."
"From a distance it looks like a really nice place and it is compared to the ghetto, but it’s nothing spectacular. Cheaply built, insanely overpriced and they don’t take great care of the exterior landscaping etc…. When I first moved in management seemed really great. I only lived there 6 months (March to Sept) and the entire office staff turned over in that time. The new office manager is not very friendly and be prepared to have to fight to get your deposit back. I moved out over 6 weeks ago and have gotten nothing but lip service in getting back $3000 in deposits. My AC went out in July. It did get fixed fairly quickly. There was a water leak in the roof at the end of my building and all 3 floors on that end had a mold issue. I could go on and on. Think twice."
"We were lucky enough to land a three-bedroom apartment, letting us store all of our boxes in the bedrooms while we wait for our new Fernmoor home to be completed. We moved from a 100-year-old building in New York City, so this newer place is amazing. Morin and Airica in the office are great. And Jon the handyman knows his stuff. He's always here when we need him. Check out the website for promotional offers."
"AUGUST WARNING If you sign your lease in August they will charge you $500 more a month than you would pay the rest of the year for the exact same lease. My advice: if you must live here, wait until "summer rates" have gone away for the year. But also, maybe look into living elsewhere. I signed my lease from out of state and was told over the phone that the units looked "exactly like they do on the online photos." When I arrived I discovered that my unit was carpeted and all the stainless steel appliances were pitted with rust. The photos online are very old. Another area that this is very obvious is the "fully-equipped fitness center" which houses a very small amount of undermaintained, outdated, (and usually sticky) equipment. This overlooks the tiny pool that goes to a depth of 4' and is typically filled with out of control screaming children. The elevators throughout the community are known for going out, and in fact someone was actually stuck in one the other day. Luckily the fire department knows their way around this place as the apartments get evacuated on a regular basis due to gas leaks and elderly people leaving unremembered items in their ovens. Lewes and the DE beaches area is an amazing place to live, just wanted to give a heads up to anyone considering living at the Vineyards, as they will TOTALLY take advantage of you if they can. They know they can in August."
