"I will NEVER recommend Amherst Alarm to any one I know. I will do the opposite and suggest they look elsewhere. We had an issue last year with an employee hanging up the phone on me and they dispatched the fire department 2x to our house in a 30 min period. Taking away resources from the community and people that really need the help. All over a low battery. Then when we decided not to renew at the new year they "continued our services" I don't know how many times I had to tell them we WANT TO CANCEL. Now I have to pay for services we never used. Seems like shady business practices."
"Very misleading business practices and poor technical service. They have been unable to solve our issue for months now but will not relinquish the "contract" we did not know we had when we paid for the year in advance. If you are about to renew or sign up for service, make sure you insist on monthly payment agreements. Better yet, find another company."
"expensive monitoring and slow response when alarm goes off that is, ,immediate phone call then long time before reaction from authorities.if there is any kind of fault in system or repair needed, it is expensive. I'm sure the companies like ADT are worse to deal with. Amherst Alarm bought out a smaller guy who was great and half the price of monitoring. 2000$ plus a year for a service that actually will not stop a pro. these big companies should have their own physical response/reaction teams to speed up the slow police (i'm sure they are sick of all the false alarms) response."
"Ran into an Amherst Alarm Technician today at Westminster Church today as we had attended a service. The tech went out of his way to assist us with directions and a couple other things. Was very impressed. Not a customer, but if I'm in the market for an alarm system, this would be the company."
"This is a high quality company. We installed our alarm system and in-house vacum system with them 8 years ago. They put in quality systems. But what I like most is the outstanding level of service. We worked with Jeff Naab in setting up our systems and we worked with Jeff Naab when we had issues. He is unbelievably responsive and professional. I didn’t think that people like him still existed. You never see most salespeople after the sale - with Jeff Naab he stands behind you. The entire service and monitoring people are excellent as well. Jeff Naab makes Amherst Alarm a special company."
