"I went in one day and they turned me away, understandably. They were short staffed. So I get it, but the one girl who I’m assuming is of Asian decent (hope my assumption is correct) she was the sweetest. I came back Sunday they went through my things it was very good. This will be the only Plato’s I sell to. The caveat, to that is the dressing room girl kept watching me and there was a tag on a shirt I really wanted and I remembered it was either $12, or $13, but i I had so much stuff I was planning to but that maybe it fell off the girl was gracious enough to look up the price. Then it came to $16 so I was like no thanks.so other than the fitting room girl. Most pleasant Plato’s I’ve ever been to. They have some of the coolest pieces as well."
"Sam and Michelle were great! I came in so close to closing and felt terrible. They were incredibly accommodating and so sweet! I highly recommend (:"
"Be sure to count your clothes/look over any items you bring in that are given back to you. I was given back a bin of clothes and told none were wanted, but when I got home and went through the clothes a few days later I realized that one of my blouses was missing. So Platos got clothing for free from me and I lost a payment. Really bummed."
"First, I was a customer here, then later an employee. As a costumer I was never treated with the utmost of respect but I know what it is like to be flustered and struggling at work. I was approached to apply because of the frequency of my visits. I was hired on the spot without an interview. Very odd. I began working and was hardly trained. I was treated in a very rude manner by management. It is important to point out that at the time of my hire I was 15. I was working another job and was greatly overwhelmed. I was having a plethora of personal issues that I attempted to communicate. I was met with coldness and passive aggressive language. After around a month of mistreatment and a hostile work environment I broke. I showed up for a shift after being told I couldn’t miss more shifts. That’s completely fair. While I was struggling this is not an excuse to be a poor employee. However, I battle a panic disorder and quickly fell into a panic attack before my shift. I was met with extreme rudeness, misunderstanding, and was even told by a coworker that I just had to “suck it up”. I then quit and received an incredibly passive aggressive text from my previous manager saying “you left your passport here, you can have your brother come pick it up.” Implying that I couldn’t do it myself. I will never be returning to this location. The management and training is poor, the store is disorganized, and overall a terrible experience as a costumer or an employee."
"Terrible customer service and management. Seek elsewhere for consignment-based and lightly used clothing. If I could give a no-star review on this, I would. This particular location lacks structure for how they review and choose clothing. Multiple times I’ve tried selling quality brand items in good condition, to which they’ve consistently rejected on several occasions—meanwhile taking in other pieces with pilling, stains, and holes (which aren’t already part of the intentional designs). And their customer service is abysmal—especially from the manager. Please train your staff upfront to properly communicate the return policy at check-out. One of your employees the other day informed me that I could return my purchased items for a full refund (under seven days from the date of purchase), as long as both the receipt and tags were brought back as well (she never specified the tags needing to be attached to the clothing). So when I came back yesterday to return a couple items I decided against (with tags and receipt included), the manager rudely remarked that the return policy was on the receipt. And that’s one of the reasons why your specific location has a sea of one-star reviews (but I’m sure you guys could care less, as you usually do). As somebody that’s worked in sales and retail for over four years, I can confirm that stopping by this particular Plato’s location is a waste of time and energy. Unless you specifically enjoy being treated like garbage from their immature staff and miserable manager, I highly suggest potential customers seek other Plato’s locations, or other consignment-based clothing stores that could use valuable business. Hopefully the people that work here take this constructive criticism as a lesson in professionalism. And for the record, other clothing companies (ex: Title Nine) allow returns, even when the tags have been removed—just as long as they are included with the receipt upon return. Then again, Plato’s is consignment-based, and each store is individually owned and operated (therefore other store locations, I’ve noticed, have better management teams). Long story short, the Boulder location needs to do better, on every level. Food for thought."
