Lumina at Spanish Springs

"Believe the bad reviews. This complex is an all around scam. 1st my packages being stolen from my door ON AND OFF CAMERA, they do nothing. The new ladies in the office hate their jobs! They say switch to the lockers and have been letting OnTrac steal my packages or give them to a different tenant. They refuse to help or check the lockers even though I provide pictures of what lockers to check. I had to make a police report because of their organized crime with these delivery drivers that they know by first and last name basis. The amenities seem nice until you stay for a while and the ghetto rigged stuff starts coming apart from simply being cleaned. No parking for tenants. My unit came with a garage but my other car sits in the cul de sac because you or your guests can’t park inside. Not a kid friendly complex either, they have a dog park but nowhere for small children to play. It’s dog poop EVERYWHERE. The rent is super high and they have no security. The crime from the teenagers is outrageous. They even stole my doorbell 1 time. God forbid you need any help or have a complaint of any kind. The ladies in the office are horrible after they con you in they don’t care anymore. Never ever pay a few hundred over the rent you owe they rob your money and you still owe the full rent the following month. I did this for MONTHS before realizing they come up with random stuff to charge you with so you can be sure to break even. There are more affordable apartments in the area although the area really isn’t as good as it used to be years ago. You’re better off choosing a completely different area honestly ."

"Been living here since they’ve been built and the staff is wonderful and accommodating. Had an unfortunate incident happen and had to transfer units and the maintenance team Dalton, Derek and Spencer were simply amazing! They checked on my unit everyday and made sure everything was ok while being completely understanding of the situation. Honestly best maintenance team I’ve ever seen in an apartment complex! Thanks Lumina!"

"Lumina Springs claim it takes the Housing Choice voucher. This was my experience with Lumina of Spanish Springs. I emailed a representative from Lumina letting them know I was interested in the apartment. Finally, I received a reply from a woman named Jo saying she would be glad to give me a tour of the apartment. When we finally made it to Lumina I was told by Jo that there were no available apartments for me to view at that time however, when I spoke to her earlier she said nothing of the sort. This was a waste of my time because I could have stayed where I was and viewed the Apt video online. Oh yes I am what they call an African American. That was odd to me when she said there were no apartments available to view after getting to the Apt. After viewing the apartment online, I asked her if they accepted the Section-8 voucher now known as the Housing Choice voucher and she told me and my relatives they did accept the rental voucher. Then, she told us the income has to be three times the amount of the rent just to fill out an application. The apartment was nice but not that nice. These people act like they are pleased to meet you but once you go in it is different story. I'm sure it didn't help given my skin color. They screen you once you go in & it is fraudulent claiming they take section 8 even though you have to have 2 to 3 timed the rent which makes zero sense because section 8 is "low income" and if a person makes 3 times the amount they do not need section 8 so apartments like Lumina are liars. Although Nevada is a beautiful state the treatment from these Apartment complexes put a bad taste in my mouth when it comes to trying to find a decent apartment here in Reno. What can you expect from a state where state taxes are not paid!"

"Excellent maintenance team! Dalton, Derek, Tony , and Spencer did an amazing job! My washer was leaking and dryer wasn’t drying and so quick they came to get it taken care of! Very nice and knowledgeable. I appreciate it so much ! Amazing perk to the Lumina apartments!"

"Lumina is a wonderful and upscale apartment complex with many amenities. From the maintenance crew to the office staff, they have made our stay memorable, making us feel welcome and at home from the time we arrived. I felt like it was a true neighborhood. When you make an effort to make it a better place, staff and neighbors follow by example and you are appreciated. It’s also very pet friendly with 2 dog parks and many waste stations. I did miss the pool during the rebuild but the reconstruction is all for the better. It was our favorite amenity. All the food trucks are a nice touch and the events throughout the year are very fun. Networking with staff and neighbors helped you connect in such a positive way at these Lumina events. I would encourage anyone looking at making Lumina their home, make the choice!
